Austin was on the U11 C2 team this year in the Shakopee Soccer Association. He did a great job and really grew as a player this year! He was the leading scorer for his team and played well in a variety of positions. He even pulled up to the U12 C2 team at one point and scored a goal and got an assist (having a hand in both of the goals scored by their team). He had a great coach this year that really taught the kids a lot and we enjoyed watching the team grow and learn throughout the season. They were a totally different team by the end of the season than they were at the beginning.
Here are some (OK, actually a lot of) fun photos from this season:
Defending the corner kick.
Celebrating after a goal.
High fives!
Ha! The face!
Throw in.
Maybe he should be stretching with Sarah to do the splits!
Pep talk with the coaches
The face on Austin on the far right of this photo is so hilarious! I have no idea what is going on here, but check out the face!Austin is excited that you can do headers in U12, but in U11, they weren't allowed, so they had to get the ball down with their chests when it was high.
Cutie spectators
Austin just had tryouts today for next year, when he will be on the U12 team. He will play a short season in the fall, do winter training and futsal in the winter, then play the main season again in the spring/summer. For him, any day he gets to play soccer is a good day!
