Pajama Play Day

We had a fun day yesterday...we started the day with fresh Belgian waffles, then stayed in our jammies for the day and played at home.

Austin playing with his cars

Sarah hanging out in her fleece jammies, watching Austin play.

Austin still loves holding and snuggling his baby sister.

Sarah continues to do great and is growing well. She is about 5 1/2 weeks old now. She is having more and more awake and alert time each day. She still doesn't like to sleep in her crib except at night. If we put her in her crib during the day, she only stays asleep for a few minutes. If we hold her, she will sleep for hours. She also is used to the house being noisy...well, Austin being noisy...so she sleeps when it is noisy and wakes up as soon as I close her door and make it quiet in her room.

Austin had a little potty trouble this week, but is feeling better now. He has otherwise not had any regression in behavior or developmental milestones with Sarah's arrival. Besides me trying to keep him from crushing Sarah when he leans over (or on) her to give her kisses and reminding him to bounce her gently in her bouncy seat, he is doing well with being gentle with her.

He is still enjoying going to his ECFE class twice a week and it has been fun getting to be the one to take him and see how he does in a classroom setting. Today, we had fun mixing colored water to make all different colors of the rainbow, making shapes with purple play dough and cookie cutters, and also doing some watercolor painting (which I forgot to get off the drying rack to bring home - ooops!). He does well with the teachers and I think he actually does better with behavior and listening when we're not there. He even had a successful trip to the dentist recently. He went in with the dental hygienist himself, sat in the dentist chair, had a dental exam, got his teeth cleaned, and got a fluoride treatment. He didn't fuss at all until he came back out to the waiting room and saw me - only then did he start to get teary eyed for a moment. He is growing fast and I am starting to find his pants suddenly too short when I get him dressed in the morning. My how time flies!

On a more somber note...We are praying for peace for my Grandmother. We traveled to see her a couple weeks ago so she could meet Sarah and see Austin again. She was not doing well. Now she is doing worse. She is not far from leaving this world. We love her and will miss her, but are praying for her to be at peace and go in comfort. Please keep her, my Grandfather, and our family in your prayers.
