House of Bounce!

The weather has warmed up to 30-40 degrees over the past couple days, but we are still waiting for spring to fully arrive! To ward off some of the cooped up winter wigglies, we headed to the House of Bounce for the morning and met up with Shanlee and Troy with their kiddos Thayden and Sierra. We got to meet their new baby Sierra. She is 9 days old now and is quite adorable! (and very tiny - only 5 lbs 6oz at birth). Thayden is Austin's age and Sarah and Sierra are only about 3 weeks apart. We had fun catching up and watching the boys bounce out their excess energy.

Here are some photos of the boys having fun...

Thayden and Austin climbing the big ladder...
Thayden checking to see if we're still watching.
Then flying down the big slide...Austin loved racing down the big slide.
The boys had a blast and wore themselves out. The only time we had trouble was when Austin climbed into a bouncer that had an obstacle course to get to where you climb up to the slide. He got through about half of it (through some obstacles and over a small slide) and disappeared from sight. I waited for him to appear at the top of the slide to slide down to the exit. I waited some more...and some more. Still no Austin. Then amongst the noise of all the bouncers, I heard him start sobbing and wailing. I was holding Sarah, didn't see our friends anywhere near us, and Austin was going crazy somewhere in the bouncer where I couldn't see him. So, in a moment of desperation, I asked a nice elderly lady sitting on one of the benches nearby to hold Sarah, set the camera down next to her, and jumped into the bouncer to rescue Austin. Little did we know, there was a REALLY steep climbing wall on the back of the slide to get to the exit slide. Also, Austin couldn't just back out the way he came in, because he had gone over a slide on the way in that he couldn't climb back up because it was too slippery and had no footholds or ropes to hold on to. He was stuck and hidden from view and terrified. Poor kid! I could barely climb the steep slope up to the slide, but I managed to get him up to the top and out of the bouncer. That's one he won't be revisiting for a while! I quickly retrieved Sarah from the nice lady who helped me out, Austin wiped his tears away, and the fun continued.

As the morning came to a close, the boys had a yummy lunch of macaroni and cheese, applesauce, and chocolate milk (any 3-year-old's dream lunch), then we headed home. What a fun way to get Austin some time to run around and play. With the weather, busy schedules, travel, and our now divided attention, Austin really hasn't gotten much of a chance to just run around and play recently. We can't wait for spring when we can get outdoors a little more! Feburary flew by...now March already!
