Kindergarten Graduation and Other Fun!

The end of the school year snuck up on us. With our weather being most decidedly not summery, the end of May and beginning of June have been zooming by.

On Tuesday, Austin graduated from Kindergarten!  He was so excited and the ceremony was really cute.  The kids sang songs and got their diplomas, then there was a little social time in their classrooms with cake and punch.  Unfortunately, I had some camera issues and got really blurry photos. Bummer!  Here's a little peek at his graduation and a video of the songs they sang.

Austin with his teacher Mrs. Conniff.  She did a great job keeping Austin challenged this year and really took the time to individualize teaching, homework, and tests (like spelling tests) to different learning styles and skill levels.  Austin finished the year reading at a 2nd to 3rd grade level, spelling some pretty impressive words (like leprechaun), doing math (aided by his fascination with sports scores), and singing lots of songs and rhymes.

If you saw the last blog post, you saw Trevor was NOT a fan of his textured baby food.  The faces he made when I gave it to him were hilariously terrible.  However, we went out for soup/salad/sandwiches at Zuppa Cucina and after he was done with his baby food, he was trying to grab everybody else's food, so I tried giving him a cracker to gnaw on.  He chowed it and loved it!

Then Trevor had his first haircut over Memorial Day weekend in preparation for his 9 month photo session.   We took him to Kid's Hair and he got to watch Austin get his haircut first.  When it was Trevor's turn, he sat in the barber chair like a little angel and let Sophea cut his hair.  What a sweetie!

He had his photos taken later that day and we got some really adorable shots.  I'll post those when I get the disk with the images in the mail.


We got to spend some time with family on Memorial Day at Nanny and Grandpa's house.  Austin and Sarah were little chefs helping cook dinner.

 And Trevor got to FaceTime with his cousin Owen (Kevin and Keng's little guy).

Sarah has been thriving in swimming lessons and will go up a level for the next session.

And the best video of them all...guaranteed to make you smile if you're having a bad day.  Trevor totally cracking up when Austin is being goofy.  Around 58 seconds into the video, Trevor is laughing so hard!  These 2 have a special connection. Trevor smiles even when a photo of Austin comes by on our digital photo frame or he sees him smile at him across the dinner table.  So cute!
