Happy Mother's Day! My greatest blessings in life are my 3 little miracles - Austin, Sarah, and Trevor! I'm so lucky to be their Mommy!
Sorry everybody! I know you all think your Mom is wonderful, but mine is truly the best Mom in the world!
We enjoyed a nice brunch at Olympic Hills after church this morning. Check out the footprint butterflies we made for Nanny. It didn't turn out quite as well as the picture on Pinterest, but, hey, it's not easy to get an 8 month old to stick his feet in paint and then on the right spots on the paper without a little fuss and a little mess!
We've been busy with spring activities lately...school year starting to wrap up, eclectic weather (snowing one day, 40 degrees and windy the next day, 92 degrees a few days later!), spring cleaning projects (the garage needed it badly!), gardening, soccer, etc.).
Here are some random fun photos from the past few weeks...
On days I go to work, I typically get up with Trevor in the morning, get him out of his crib, change his diaper, nurse him, then get up to start getting ready for work. Sometimes, Trevor falls back to sleep after nursing in the morning. One morning, I went into the bathroom to start getting ready to go and I came back out to find Daddy and Trevor snuggling and taking an early morning snooze. How cute are they?
We attended Alexis's First Communion 2 weeks ago. She was beautiful and sweet in her white dress and veil. I snagged a picture on my iPhone during the Mass, but haven't gotten any of the other photos from the day since I didn't bring my camera. Austin and Sarah were very excited for it and were counting down the days until the event. I love seeing how well Alexis and Austin play together these days. Sarah has gotten quite talkative lately and during the Mass, she sat by Nanny and asked about everything. Nanny explained how bread and wine were made, etc. When the priest walked by sprinkling the holy water during Mass, some of it hit Sarah, and she turned to Nanny as he walked by and said, "He needs to be more careful!" Ha! I guess some of our pleas to keep the water in the bathtub at night are sinking in!
After Mass, we all went to lunch at Pittsburgh Blue. Lunch was delicious and the service was very good. We had fun and the kids were great. As we were leaving, we walked past the bar area, and Austin hopped up on a barstool to watch the football draft on the TV above the bar. My little sports fan!
We also got our Girl Scout Cookies, since we hadn't gotten a chance to see Alexis since they arrived. When we got the box home, I set it by the pantry to unload it. Trevor and Sarah got to it first. Trevor unloaded all the boxes and went right for the Thin Mints. He was giggling, smiling, and chewing on the box, while Sarah started stacking the other boxes.
We built a wood enclosure around my garden. When we did some landscaping last year, we had a bunch of extra nice dirt left. Our landscaper took the bobcat scooper full of dirt and dumped it at the edge of our wooded area and then took some extra rocks we had in our woods and made a border around it. Instant garden bed! I planted raspberries and strawberries. Unfortunately, the grass overgrew the rocks and it was a constant battle last year (while big pregnant with Trevor) to try to keep the grass out of my garden. One of the top things on the to do list this spring was to build a surround to keep the grass out.

Trevor has gotten too big for his infant car seat. We were holding out as long as possible to try to make it until the weather warmed up so we could keep him in the bundle on his infant carseat and we didn't have to dress him in a bulky winter coat everywhere we went. The weather this spring did not cooperate, so we held out a lot longer than anticipated. He still just barely fit the carseat, but I was getting bruising on my arms from holding the carseat with him in it. He's getting heavy! Here is my big baby in his new big kid carseat!
And also in the shopping cart seat now instead of sitting his infant carrier on the top of the cart.
We've been working with Austin on learning to tie his shoes. His shoes are now well worn and totally filthy, so I didn't want him carting them around the house to practice on them. I took a box from a palate of babyfood for Trevor, poked holes and cut an opening in it and made a fake shoe to practice on. He's getting closer, but still can't quite get it on his own yet.
Random baby cuteness:
I just love how he sits with his little feet tucked in under him...
First time in the park swing!
Big kid fun at the park...silly faces for the camera, of course!
Playing ball in the house...Trevor was learning how to roll the ball back and forth with Austin. Mainly, he tried to eat the ball. More random baby cuteness...
He's changing so fast these days. He is so mobile and starting to get more mischievous.
Ah, what a lucky Mommy I am!
