Trevor is 8 months old!

Our Trevor is 8 months old!
At 8 months old, Trevor:
- wears mostly 12 month size clothing and just switched to size 4 diapers (when he was peeing through size 3 overnight diapers every night!).
- last I checked, he weighs over 23 pounds! We are desperately trying to make the infant car seat last until it warms up around here, but we keep getting cold temps and snow!  Later this week, it is supposed to be nicer out and we'll change over to his convertible carseat.  There go the naps in the carseat while we get our grocery shopping done!
- crawls around quite fast now!
- pulls to a stand on just about anything he can find (including in his crib...maybe that's the source of our nap troubles!)
- stands on his own holding on with 1 hand or briefly without holding on at all.
- cruises along furniture.
- loves to jump in his exersaucer...but also climbs underneath it sometimes.
- loves to play with balls and blocks.
- starting to be interested in looking at books.
- has 5 teeth (3 on top and 2 on the bottom) and to get the top ones to erupt after the bottom 2 came in, he figured out how to grind his teeth.  That made for a bloody mess of his upper gums. Poor baby!  Now he grinds his top and bottom teeth together sometimes - I sure hope he stops doing that!
- bites Mommy while nursing sometimes and even bit my shoulder while I was holding him in Church the other day.  Ouch!
- says "mama" pretty specifically for me.  We have yet to hear "dada".
- babbles and makes his growling noises at times.
- climbs the 2 steps out of the playroom.
- stands up holding on to the tub while I get his bath ready (and usually pees on the floor if I have his diaper off already).  Bathes in the ducky tub now.  He loves grabbing for the water and playing with his floating turtle and ducky toys.
- likes to chew on, bang, and throw his spoons at dinner time.
- eats all sorts of baby food.  He likes fruits and veggies a lot, will tolerate the meats/dinner blend baby foods and gets bored with oatmeal and spits it out at me.
- has been a little stinker about naps lately!  Ever since teeth came onto the scene, he has been refusing to nap most of the time.  He is quite resistant to napping in his crib, though he usually sleeps through the night in his crib just fine (even when put down awake).  He wants to be held for his naps.  When I can, I'm happy to oblige (I LOVE baby snuggles), but that isn't always possible with the 2 big kids needing Mommy's attention too.
- greets me when I get home from work by grinning, crawling over to me, climbing up to a stand holding onto my knees, all the while saying "mama! mama! mama!"
- still has a sweet smile and adorable giggle.
- adores his big brother. Nobody can make Trevor giggle quite like Austin can.  One goofy sound or smile from Austin and Trevor giggles like crazy.  Trevor loves Sarah too, but there is definitely a connection with his big brother.  Sarah gets a little overwhelming to him at times (she still gets a bit too aggressive on hugging him, pulling on his arms or legs, tipping him over, etc.)

I can't believe how quickly time is flying.  He is growing so fast!  I need him to slow down...I need more baby snuggle time before he gets too big to want to snuggle his Mommy!

Perspective shot...how big in the chair now.

My smiley baby!
It was almost impossible this month to get the monthly photo of him in his rocking chair.   As soon as I put him in the chair, he started squirming away and trying to jump off the chair...
Eventually, I got him to watch the camera for a few brief moments by making him giggle at a Tigger stuffed animal bouncing up to the camera.
Happy boy!

Other fun this month...
Laundry basket fun.
Briefly, the weather felt a little like spring.  The kids were eager to get outside to play.  Sarah decided to have a little snack on the front step and show off her cute shades.
Sadly, the winter weather soon returned...and this is what it looked like on April 23rd!!

And that was after over 6 inches of snow the week before too!

But snowy weather doesn't stop Trevor from enjoying the ducky tub!
I'll leave the naked baby pictures off the blog, but they are archived for future embarrassment if needed.  He loves his ducky tub!
My boys!
Sarah has been giving me her "cheese" smile lately (that is, when she doesn't refuse to let me take her picture!).
She decided to use the kitchen floor as her skating rink and pretends to glide around ice skating.
Big sister loving on her baby brother!
Check me out!  I can stand up like a big kid!

Trying a teething biscuit for the first time...
"All right, it's in my hand, so it must go in my mouth...that's how it works, you see."
"What is this!?"
"Hmm...pretty tasty!"
He enjoyed it until he managed to bite off a little chunk and it didn't dissolve in his mouth as quickly as he expected...he hasn't tried any food chunkier than purees, so he gagged a bit before managing to swallow the bit he chewed off.

"Toys? Who needs toys?  I've got a box!"
My big boy, Austin.  How did he get so big so fast?
Sarah's "cheese" face (and her new haircut  - a little shorter than intended, but super cute on her).
My happy eater chomping on his spoon handle.

It's such a shame nobody loves my babies...(heavy sarcasm font!).
This past weekend, Nanny and Grandpa came over to play on Saturday, and Michelle and Brian came to play on Sunday. Here's Brian in his role as a giant worm monster thingie.  The kids squealed with delight as he "chased" them.
Grins with Auntie Michelle.
Toys are for chewing, right?

Pulling up on the bookcase and pulling out books and toys is a new favorite activity.

That's all for now folks.  I was trying to get some video of Sarah at her swim lessons put together, but I'm having a bit of difficulty with my iMovie, so that will have to wait for now.   Next up, SPRING!  Finally!  It is supposed to be in the 70s this weekend.  We're happy about that!
