Well, this past week had some ups and downs for sure. The highlight was a visit from Aunt Jeannie, Auntie Trish, and Elizabeth! The worst parts of the week included the lovely illness sweeping through our family.
Last weekend, we had Nanny and Grandpa over for dinner on Saturday and Grandpa gave Trevor a bath. Grandpa's an expert at baby baths. Trevor was pretty content for the bath this time.
But did look skeptical at times...
Visitors! Jeannie, Trish, Elizabeth popped over on Monday night to meet Trevor.
The kids had colds, Austin with a cough too, but on Monday night, Austin started throwing up and threw up ALL NIGHT LONG on Monday night. After 5 or so bedding changes and a fair amount of scrubbing carpet (along with getting up with Trevor for his overnight feedings), we were pretty exhausted by Tuesday morning. Austin stayed home from school on Tuesday, but was back outside riding his bike and playing by the time his bus went through the neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon. He was back to school on Wednesday and all was well (except for those lingering runny noses) until Saturday morning when I heard Sarah fussing on the monitor and went in to her room to find her in bed covered in vomit. Shortly thereafter, Steve succumbed to the same and spent the day going back and forth from the bathroom floor and the bed while I tried to take care of a vomiting Sarah, Austin with diarrhea, and Trevor congested and quite fussy! AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGH! It was a rough day and I was thoroughly exhausted by the end of the day. After another fussy night with Trevor, I desperately needed a nap this morning. Blessedly, everyone was starting to feel better today and we gradually got back into our normal routine, even managing to get down some normal food for supper.
Anyway, I'm done whining now...on to some more random photos!
Hanging out with Daddy.
Check out the cute "little brother" onesie from Uncle Kevin and Auntie Keng.
The many faces of Trevor John...
I love how his big yawns are crooked!
Smirking...
Annoyed?
Smiles!
Big smiles!
Goofy!
Sarah came downstairs from the play room today like this...half a cake from her play kitchen, Daddy's lei from our honeymoon in Hawaii, and purple glasses with one lens missing. Goofball!Sweet baby Trevor resting in his swing.
Big brother showing off his cute dimples.
Sarah reading stories to Trevor.
Feeling better...the kids decided to go dig in the yard this afternoon. They were digging up our rock beds, so I redirected them to a more appropriate place to dig. We had to remove 2 elm trees in our back yard this week due to Dutch Elm Disease, so we had a fresh patch of dirt and wood chips in which they could dig to their hearts' content. They had a blast and got plenty muddy in the process. And a couple random videos...
This one is a bit boring to most probably, but I wanted to capture what Trevor is like these days. This was about a week ago, when he was 5 weeks old. He is starting to coo and make noises. Here he was just lying on a blankie kicking, cooing, and being cute.
This one is a video I took of Sarah on 9/20 when we popped by Nanny's house to drop off cookies for our drive to ND for the Michigan game. Sarah ran downstairs to where Nanny stores the play kitchen and got suited up for some serious cooking.
We were planning on heading to an apple orchard this weekend, but with the illnesses and cold weather, we didn't make it. Maybe we'll go another weekend. In 2 weeks, we get to welcome Gramma and PopPop Cronk and Diana and Brian to Minnesota for Trevor's baptism. We plan to take them to Sever's Corn Maze and Fall Festival, so we're hoping the weather is nice that weekend so we don't freeze them to death. Can't wait to see them all soon!
