Waiting patiently for Grandpa to put the boat in the water.
The new boat! Much different than the ~50 year old boat it replaces.
Austin LOVED it and was so excited to go out on the boat!
We got some smiles out of Sarah before we got going...
But then she was not happy about it for the next hour or so.
We tried bribing her with treats - Cookie Monster cookies and chocolate milk.
But she insisted that I hold her almost the entire time and she was very clingy and scared for a while. Despite not really eating the cookies, she held on to the box of cookies with a vice grip! She hid under my ND hat and panicked if I moved my arm and she thought I wasn't going to hold her.
We did manage to get her to peek out from under the hat and smile, but then she went right back to hiding again.
Meanwhile, Austin was in heaven!
He got to help Grandpa drive the boat.
Sarah eventually warmed up to boating when she found buoys. She had fun spotting the buoys (though she calls them "gooeys") and especially loved the ones that said "SLOW" because she could find an "S" for "Sarah" on them. Once we got going slowly and she could find buoys, she let me put her down, she she sat with Nanny for a bit, and she even ventured up to the front of the boat. Like last year when she panicked about riding in the boat at first, but warmed up to it by the time we headed to the lake resort last summer, we're hoping she's ready to go next time without all the fuss.
And a bit of cuteness from this morning...
Austin and Sarah were having fun goofing around this morning and discovered it was really funny if Austin tickled Sarah's tummy by blowing noises on her belly.
