I can't believe it is almost the end of May! Austin's last week of school is next week and the weather is feeling more and more like summer! Here's what we've been up to the last few weeks...
Sarah got her "big girl chair" just like Austin's (and was VERY excited about it)!
She loves sitting at the table and eating like a big kid. We still make her wear a bib if the meal is messy, but she's doing pretty well not needing her bib for a fair proportion of our meals.
Austin continues to love soccer! Here are some more photos of him in action...celebrating a goal!
Taking a water break.
Austin is definitely making some progress...at first, the lessons he learned from practice and games were things like not grabbing the ball with his hands or which way on the field his team is going. Now he's starting to get better at ball handling and frequently runs around wearing a big grin while playing (dimples and all).Sadly, Mother's Day was less than successful this year...at least for me. I was home sick with either stomach flu or food poisoning (not sure which), and so Steve and the kids had fun seeing Nanny, Grandpa, Auntie Michelle and Uncle Brian at brunch while I stayed home to get some rest. The kids even wanted to stay over at Nanny and Grandpa's to try out the new bunk beds for naptime. I recovered by the next day and was able to go back to work, but I was still pretty queasy on Monday and tired on Tuesday. The kids were pretty wild on Tuesday while I was home with them, so we decided to get out of the house and have a fun picnic lunch and playtime at Chutes and Ladders last week. Nanny was able to join us and the kids had a blast.
The tire swing was a big hit (especially since Nanny had them giggling like crazy pretending to narrowly avoid them bonking her with the swing).
This past weekend, Steve and I got away for a trip to Arizona for the wedding of one of my college roommates, Kerrie and her new husband Brad.
We got to stay at a nice resort in the Camelback Mountains. Somehow, we got a really nice suite with a huge living room, kitchen, dining area, and a patio. We even had a nice view of the mountains. (Disclaimer: this is a photo Katie took, but pretty much what the view from our room looked like).
Here is the beautiful bride and her father heading down the aisle.
And the bride and groom with huge smiles on their faces heading down the aisle after being announced for the first time as Mr and Mrs.

The roomies (minus the busy bride) at the reception.
From left to right: Felisa, Katie, Margaret, me, Stephanie, and Ellen.
All six of the roomies when we caught the beautiful bride at the reception.
It was so much fun to get a chance to catch up with these fantastic women! I've missed my roomies!
We missed the kids while we were away, but they had a blast staying at Nanny and Grandpa's house! They are still getting used to the bunk beds and being in the same room at night, so there were some late bedtimes and rocky naps...but it all worked out fine. I don't think they missed us one bit. My angelic mother and sweet father had the kids back to our house, down for naps, and dinner in the oven when we arrived home after Dad picked us up at the airport. What a way to come home!
Baby Boy behaved pretty well while we were traveling and we're now 27 weeks along. We're still working on figuring out a name for him (though, again, we aren't planning on announcing what we've chosen until he's born). We've got a busy summer coming and are planning on enjoying every day!
