Last Day of School and Random Fun

Austin's last day of school was May 31 and they had a game day needing some parent helpers.  When Austin's teacher said Sarah could come too, we signed up and had fun staying with Austin for his last morning at preschool.  A few shots of the morning...
Austin playing with the smart board calendar.
And working on some computer games.
Sarah even got to sit with the big kids for a few minutes during circle time before she got too wiggly and noisy to stay there.  She was trying to show Mrs. Judd her new shoes and being a little too disruptive, so she hung out with Mommy in the back of the room for the rest of the floor time.
Each student got a certificate for finishing preschool and a goodie bag with candy and toys in it.   Here is Austin's turn...
Then it was time to go outside for games!
The kids all loved the parachute station.  We (the adults helping at that station) tried to remember back to our childhoods to figure out what games we did with the parachute in school when we were little.  Here is when Austin and Sarah got their turns.
Hanging out on the playground waiting for their popsicle treats.  It was an unusually cool day and the kids were in coats, but the popsicles were still a hit.
Sarah got to help Mrs. Judd hold the hula hoop for a classmate to throw the ball through.  She had so much fun getting to be a big kid for the morning.
Austin's class.

Then, on to summer...
More soccer!  Austin has really been enjoying soccer and is making some progress on his skills. He is much better at dribbling the ball and has gotten a few goals each game lately.
Sarah's a good little spectator (especially when she's got a lawn chair and a snack).
Austin's little victory cheer when he scores a goal.

While over at Nanny and Grandpa's for supper, Sarah got in on the cooking action.  She has been really eager to help cook lately and always pulls her chair or her stool over to the counter to "help."   She thought snapping the green beans and rolling the crescent rolls was really exciting!

Since we put Sarah's big girl bed on the opposite side of the room from where her crib was, her classic Pooh decal with her name is on the other side of the room from her new big girl bed.  I found some wall decals of flowers and butterflies that match her new bedding perfectly.  I also took some of the decals and put them on the wooden initial that Auntie Michelle and Uncle Brian gave her.

Sarah was my little helper getting the S hung up
(though she wanted to carry it around and play with it instead of putting it on the wall).
Proud of her new decorations.
Unfortunately, Sarah now takes down the wall decals and moves them around.  She also pulls down the letter S and then we have to find where the little nails went (sometimes in her bed!).  This is exactly why we didn't hang it above her crib.

Our neighborhood had multiple garage sales this past week.  I don't know if I've actually ever shopped at a garage sale before, but we took a walk around the neighborhood and stopped a few houses.  We got a few really cute clothes for Sarah. We also found a portable swing in really good shape that I got for the baby.  Of course, the kids think that it is for Grumpy Bear or their baby dolls.

While Grandpa was away on a golf trip to Scotland, we had Nanny over for supper.  One night, she took us all out for dinner.  The kids had a little fight over who could sit on Nanny's lap after dinner and then figured out that Nanny's lap was big enough for both of them.

We've had some wild weather lately - temps up to 95 degrees and then high of 70 degrees the next day.  Lots of rain and some heavy thunderstorms (I love storms!).  On one of the really nice days, we headed to the park and Sarah was really proud of herself for being able to swing on the big kid swing!

Sarah has been super cute wearing pigtails lately and they keep her hair out of her face better than her hair clips, but stay in better than a pony tail.  My little cutie!
