My big girl, Sarah, got her first haircut today!
She was excited before we went, but when it came to be her turn (and Austin insisted he would not go first), she was a bit hesitant. As soon as we convinced her to sit in the chair because she could watch a movie on the TV, she was on board.
Her hair has gotten so long!
Pretty proud of herself.
She even got a cute little braid in front to keep it from falling in her eyes.
My little princess with her cute new big girl haircut.
We then headed to Cherry Berry (a self-serve frozen yogurt bar that is super yummy!) for a treat. The kids and I discovered this spot earlier in the week and wanted to bring Daddy this time. Here are a couple photos from the first time we went.Mom and I went to a photography for mom's workshop on Thursday night and it was great! If you're a mom, grandma, auntie, or friend of little ones that wants to learn how to take awesome photos of your kids, check out this workshop. Her website is www.LauraMonahan.com. She is an internationally recognized photographer, a really sweet lady, and a BSM mom who donate portions of the profits from these seminars to funds for Jack Jablonski. Mom and I had lots of fun at the workshop and learned some new tricks that we'll be trying out on the kids (and on the new baby when he comes!). I'm still trying to get the hang of applying the tips she gave us and I've been trying out some different settings on my camera. Sometimes, I'm successful and sometimes not so much! I think it's going to be really fun to really see what this fancy digital SLR can really do!
Anyway, I played around with the lighting and the ISO settings on the camera the other night at dinner time (while the kids are sedentary for a few minutes) and got a couple cute photos.
And one in the car today on the way to Sarah's haircut.
That's all for now. We're happy to have a long weekend to relax a bit and get some things done around the house. We again ran into a rather significant delay on our basement construction (after sitting idle for ~3 months now due to a delay in our cabinetry being finished, etc.) so we're STILL not done with the basement project. We're hoping to wrap up in the next few weeks, but we'll see... As long as we're done before the baby comes, I guess I'm OK with that. Austin finishes school this coming week and then it's on to a busy summer!
