Happy Birthday Austin!

Austin's birthday was on Sunday! We went up to Nanny and Grandpa's house for Austin's birthday party with family. It was great to celebrate with our family. Austin definitely had fun, but was a wee bit overstimulated by the end of the day. Here are some photos from the weekend.

The Tigger cake we made for Austin this year.
Coaxing Austin to blow out the candle by telling him it was hot and we had to blow on it like his hot food. He did it!
Nanny and Austin enjoying the cake.
We were celebrating Trish's birthday too (hers was October 29).
Here is Alexis helping Auntie Trish blow out the candles on the chocolate cake.
Austin opening his presents.

Other pics from the weekend...

Steve and I working on the cake. This one was more complicated than the Pooh cake last year, so it took us about 5 hours start to finish.
Brian giving Austin rides in the laundry basket.
Helping Grandpa run the blender to make fruit salsa with Nanny.
Nanny got out the play kitchen set that we had when we were little and Austin had a blast playing with it.
Austin playing with the phone from the kitchen while walking around in Nanny's workout shoes (on the wrong feet, too).

Family at the party...
Christopher, Jeannie, GiGi, Nanny, and Trish.

We all had a blast and are now recovering from the chaos. My little man is now 2! I can't believe it...time sure flies! This week, Austin has his 2 year old well child checkup with our family doctor, then we head back up to the Twin Cities. Steve is taking off for Knoxville to go to his friend Brandon's wedding, and I'm meeting with 2 of the pediatric clinics in the Twin Cities who might have a job for me when I finish residency in about a year and half. Then I've got a few days off for the weekend and Monday off to spend time at home with Austin before Steve gets home from Knoxville.

For those of you praying for our buddy Luke...good news! Luke was able to have his surgery to remove the tumor. He still has lots of chemo and radiation to go, but that's a big step in the right direction. Yay Luke! Keep the prayers coming. They're working.
