Tweite's Pumpkin Patch

Today we took Austin to Tweite's Farm and Pumpkin Patch. We only made it through about 1/3 of the farm and activities before it was time for "bye bye home" and "hungry," but we had a great time playing and exploring.
One of Austin's favorite things... BUS!
Running around the kid maze with Daddy...
And stopping for a hug.
Getting a lift from Mommy when his little legs got tired in the maze.
Teepee time (aka "tent" to Austin).

How tall is Austin? Well the scarecrow says about 3 feet tall.
My pumpkins!
Riding a tree...yes, there is a saddle on a tree trunk! How silly !
Riding the horsey swings made from tires.
The water pump was a popular attraction for my water baby. Sometimes I wonder if he is part fish, he loves the water so much!
We rode the tractor trailer out to the pumpkin patch. Riding the tractor was so much the highlight of the morning for Austin that he spent the entire time in the pumpkin patch requesting another ride on the tractor.
My little pumpkin in the pumpkin patch!
Hanging out with Daddy.
Looking cute while waiting for the tractor ride.
Pumpkin cookies! After I gave him these cookies, he chomped on them for a few minutes, then spontaneously said "Thank you, Mommy." Oh, I'm so proud!
Today Austin held up his empty sippy cup and requested that I open it. He wanted to drink out of it like a big boy with no sippy top on it. So I obliged, opened it up, put some water in it, and let him give it a shot. He drank it on his own and again tonight, he requested drinking from a regular cup.
He was very excited about having a grown up cup.
He was a little surprised that when he shook the glass, water sloshed all over him.
He tried it again...
Success! He was so excited, he clapped for himself.
We had a very fun day together! Next week we head up to the Twin Cities for a haircut (finally!) and family pictures. We waited on getting Austin's haircut because it was soooo much easier at the children's barber up there than it has been here. We're having pictures taken with my side of the family so we can update mom's family picture collage that was taken about 10 years ago. It should be fun and I'm looking forward to seeing what we come up with. It could be difficult to catch everybody smiling and looking at the camera at the same time, considering we have a wiggly toddler to include. Stay tuned for those photos...I'll put them on the blog as soon as I get them.

As you go about your day, please continue to pray for our friends, the Anderson family. My heart breaks for them as I read their updates on Luke. When I look at Austin, I cannot imagine what they are going through. They are struggling with difficult news about Luke's cancer and the response he has had to treatment so far. He is a strong little boy, but could use all the prayers we can send his way as his upcoming treatment intensifies to try and get a better response. We're thinking of you Luke!
