Austin's High School Graduation

Austin graduated magna cum laude from Benilde-St. Margaret's High School on May 30th.
We are so proud of him!
He is off to Michigan Tech University in the fall to study computer science/cybersecurity.

There were a number of festivities leading up to graduation.
Austin and the other 2 band seniors, GG and Dylan, played at the Baccalaureate Mass.

They also had the final send-off Mass at school.

Mr J heard Austin playing piano one day in the Chapel on a free hour and said he would get him to play at Mass before he graduated.  Well, he just squeezed it in by getting him to play at the closing Mass.
(Thanks got Joanie Sauer for grabbing a video of it for me!)

Flags in the hall for all the seniors.
Austin's last day of school!

Last band concert at BSM (actually took place after his last day of classes, but the seniors came in for rehearsal and for the concert anyway).

Then graduation day!
May 30th, 2025

The weather was beautiful, so we were able to have the graduation ceremony outdoors and invite everyone to come!  Austin had quite the cheering section.

Grad party time!

The shine to Austin's accomplishments!

We held the party on Nanny and Grandpa's Anniversary, because there was no other available day to have it in our crazy summer schedule!
We played a slide show of >1000 photos of Austin throughout the party.
(This slide show was hard work to get put together!  Because of a computer issue, I had lost the original photos on my current laptop and spent about a week and half manually recovering the photos from my old laptop!  It was NOT fun and not expected during this busy time, but I got it done!)
We had delicious BBQ from Mr. Pig Stuff in Shakopee. I highly recommend them!  It was SO yummy!

Austin has had fun going to numerous grad parties for his friends before and since his.

In the end of June, we headed up to campus for Austin's summer orientation.
We learned a lot and got to become more familiar with the school and campus now that we know he is going to attend college there.  It is all getting real!
We stopped at a fun mine shaft restaurant in the middle of Wisconsin on the way to campus.

There was a lot of rain on the drive to campus, but the rain mostly held off during our time on campus, allowing us some nice weather for tours and outdoor activities.

Now we're less than a month to move in day (August 18th)!
We've been doing lots of shopping to get him ready for his dorm room and we are excited to meet his roommate, Kellen!
