It has been a very busy and stressful fall for me at work, and the kids have been busy with new schools and a variety of sports and activities, so we didn't have a chance to do too much this fall, but here are some pics of what we've been up to...
I've been working, working, and working some more.
Here is an article I wrote in August about how I'm feeling at this stage in the pandemic.
I got my COVID booster in September! Yay!
Trevor used a gift card to get some stuffed dragons from the "How To Train Your Dragon" series. He was so excited to track the package for its arrival, and finally, it was "hatch day".
Trevor had a great fall season of soccer. His fall team was a great group of kids who were supportive of each other, as opposed to last years' spring team that ridiculed every mistake. Trevor's favorite position to play is goalkeeper.
Austin played on the freshman soccer team at BSM!
Austin was the MVP of his team this year, scoring more than half the team's goals himself - more than the rest of the team combined!
He is also multi-talented and went right from a soccer game to playing in the band for homecoming!
Grandpa had an extra ticket to the ND game in Chicago, so Austin got to have a weekend away with Grandpa and go to the game!
Sarah made the Preteen Elite team at her dance studio and was chosen for a ballet solo!
Team photos...
We got to the apple orchard for some delicious apples! The drought this year hit the chestnut crabapples hard, so we didn't get too many good ones of those, but we discovered the delicious Mildred apples this year!
Across the highway from the orchard is Minnesota's Largest Candy Store, so we always stop by there on the way home from the orchard. They have fun themed decor.
One of the ceiling mural rooms this year is Harry Potter themed...
We got the extended family together for "Frozen" the musical at the Orpheum! It was a great show and so wonderful to see family again!
For MEA weekend, we went to Notre Dame for the ND vs. USC football game.
Tailgating - literally sitting on the tailgate of "Tilly", my grandparents' wood sided station wagon passed down in the family and a fixture of family ND games!
Trevor playing tailgate football with cousin Kyle.
Sarah and Nanny dressed identically (not on purpose). Sarah has lots of hand me downs from Auntie Michelle now that they are about the same size!Family golden dome pic
Concert on the steps - Trevor got a nice view on Dad's shoulders
Quick mask break for a pic (and for eating chocolate when we scored touchdowns!)
It was a night game, so Trevor was up WAY past his bed time. This was how he looked a few minutes into the hour drive back to Uncle Jim's lake house...
And Uncle Jim a few minutes after arriving...
A fun time was had by all!
Next up...Halloween and Austin's birthday.
