Austin turned 15!
At 15 years old, Austin:
- is 5'10" tall (84.2 percentile), weighs 145.2 lb (78.8. percentile) and is still growing! Almost as tall as Mom and Dad, but will probably be taller than us!
- is smart, funny, energetic, an early riser (!), great a playing piano, playing soccer and basketball, and wrestling with his little brother (despite our protests on the latter).
- is a freshman in high school at Benilde-St. Margaret's, my alma mater.
- struggles at times to get homework turned in on time, so is (hopefully!) learning responsibility and organization to keep his grades up.
- plays soccer and dominated his freshman team this year, scoring more than half the team's goals!
- plays basketball and is just getting started with his freshman basketball team.
- joined the quiz bowl team when he was recruited by his teachers. Smart fellar!
- was VERY excited to get a phone when he started high school.
- spends a fair amount of time looking up random stuff (mostly about sports) on his laptop.
- got to attend 2 Notre Dame football games this fall, one with Grandpa, and one with all of us.
- took driver's ed over the summer and has an appointment in December to take his test for his driver's permit!
For his birthday this year, he wanted to keep it low key. He didn't want to have a family gathering, and due to the spike in COVID cases and our otherwise busy schedules with school and sports, that was OK with us. We enjoyed his choice of birthday dinner and cake and celebrated another year of Austin!
