We had some fun for our last weekend of summer!
We headed to the Minnesota Harvest Apple Orchard to pick some delicious apples!
Trevor posing with the T. Rex. Why a T. Rex at an apple orchard? I don't know!
Family selfie
The kids climbed the trees to reach the apples. Trevor was very excited about it!
These little apples are Chestnut Crabapples. They are small, crisp, sweet, and delicious! (And only found at Minnesota Harvest Apple Orchard, I hear.)
We also picked Paula Red apples to make apple crisp and Red Baron apples just for eating. YUM!On the way home, we stopped off across the road from the apple orchard at "Minnesota's Largest Candy Store" and got some Butter beer (butterscotch soda, yum!), some candy, and checked out this gigantic puzzle someone had assembled to show there. It is a puzzle with over 40,000 pieces!
At home, we spent time hanging out and reading and playing Harry Potter in excited preparation for our trip to Universal Studios in October.
Sarah read all 7 books this summer (just finished in mid-September).
Taking quizzes to see what Hogwarts house they would be sorted into - Austin got Hufflepuff, Sarah consistently sorted into Slytherin, and Trevor is a Gryffindor.
My littlest wizard!
This is how Trevor watched the Notre Dame game on Monday night. He is just a bit excited!
Then off to school for another great school year! Austin is in 7th grade, Sarah is in 4th grade, and Trevor is in 1st grade!
Sarah also started a new year of competitive dance at her studio. I got to take her team photos again and captured some fun ones! She is on the Junior Dream Angels team and is with a great group of girls. It will be a fun year!
Here he is playing defense (on the far left in the navy blue jersey heading to catch the runner).
And a very wide stance on the line...
He's having a blast!Trevor also started taking piano lessons with Austin and Sarah this fall.
Austin is playing fall basketball because there weren't enough players to field a soccer team this fall. He will be trying out for winter basketball soon and will continue to do soccer winter training, then another season of soccer next spring/summer. He is playing saxophone in the band again this year too.
These kids will keep us busy!
