Notre Dame vs. Texas

Over Labor Day weekend, the kids stayed with Nanny and Grandpa while Steve and I went to Notre Dame for the ND vs Texas football game.
We got to stay with Scott and Kim and spend the weekend with them.  It was fun to reconnect!
We also got to see Steve's sister Diana and her hubby Stephen while they were in town for the game.  We enjoyed seeing them even though they were cheering for the wrong team.  It was fun to show Diana and Stephen around campus.

We stopped at the Grotto to light a candle and say a prayer for my ND roomie who lost her father to lung cancer the day before.

After a delicious meal with the engineering alumni (courtesy of Scott - neither Steve nor I ever were engineers!), we headed to the concert on the steps, then enjoyed the march out to the stadium and headed in for the game!  We got to sit with Uncle Jim and Melanie!
We had cool plastic tickets hanging on a lanyard because they were part of the family season tickets.
GO IRISH!
It was a fun game (which ND won solidly! 38-3) and it was fabulous to have some time with friends, family, and reconnecting to our ND home.  We look forward to bringing the kids to campus later this fall.

The kids had fun at Nanny and Grandpa's house for the weekend too.  They went boating on Saturday and were all smiles.
When we got back and picked up the kids at Nanny and Grandpa's house, we discovered that Trevor had some difficulty navigating the kitchen at their house.  The counter tops there are shorter than the ones at our house.  He is used to being able to walk under the counters at our house, but he didn't realize he couldn't do so at Nanny and Grandpa's.  He ended up with  black eye and then learned a choice phrase.
