We started the fall off by celebrating our October 2nd birthdays! We only had 1 of the birthday people in town this year, but we had fun gathering at Nanny and Grandpa's house for supper and pie to celebrate.
Austin played downstairs for a bit and got out the "UpWords" game board and letters. This is what we found on the board...

Some random fun and cuteness! Trevor has been enjoying the dino riding toy he got for his birthday.
Trouble!
Austin's last football game!
Before we went to the field for the game, Austin told me that he really hoped he'd get a touchdown because it was his last game and he hadn't gotten a touchdown all season. Sure enough...he got a touchdown! Unfortunately, Nanny and Grandpa and Daddy got there right after his touchdown and didn't get to see it because they cut the pre-game practice short and started the game early. Even though everybody else was on time, I was the only one to see his touchdown. I did get some photos of his touchdown to share, though!
Look at him go!
Touchdown!

Austin's football team! Go purple!
My football player!
After lunch, we headed to Emma Krumbee's Apple Orchard for a fun fall afternoon! It was cool and windy, so we bundled up and enjoyed some time picking raspberries and apples.
Trevor was sleepy after missing his AM nap because of football and dance class for the big kids, and we were at the orchard right in the middle of his afternoon nap. He was totally a trooper despite being sleepy!
The kids thought the rope maze was pretty exciting!
The wooden train kept them occupied for about a half hour straight.
Meanwhile, Trevor drove the tractor.
And explored a little toddler-sized bridge.
All aboard!
Then we headed over to the orchard part to pick raspberries and apples!
While picking raspberries, the kids would get SO excited and would run over to me with berries to put in the container, yelling "Fresh picked berries!" or squealing, "I got one!"
Next up were apples! We picked a 10 pound bag of Haralson apples (for baking) and a bag of Honeycrisp apples (for eating). Yum!
Trevor even thought the apples were pretty great! He wanted to eat them right away, though!
It was really nice that there were a lot of apples low enough for the kids to pick on their own!
More fun climbing and playing.
My pumpkin in the pumpkin bin!
All tuckered out after a fun day!
When we got home, Trevor went down for a nap right away (even though it was 5:30pm!) and Sarah, Nanny, and I baked apple pies with our fresh apples! We enjoyed a delicious dinner of Italian wedding soup, then our warm apple pies!
Sunday brought sleepy children (all slept in until 9:30am!), then we headed to Church before leaving Trevor with Nanny for nap time while we took the big kids to Stages Theater for a production of "Lily's Purple Plastic Purse" (book by Kevin Henkes - a great kids book author!). We had a great, fun weekend and are looking forward to the next couple weeks when Gramma and PopPop come to visit and then Halloween comes.
