Princess Sarah is 3!

Our little princess Sarah turned 3 years old on Saturday!

First, we had Tracie (Tracie Bea Photographie) over to do Sarah's 3 year photos and Austin's 6 year portraits (plus a special project that involved Austin's shadows and Sarah as Tinkerbell - stay tuned!).  Tracie did a great job and we are excited to see how the rest of the photos turn out.  One of the previews...

At 3 years old, our Sarah:
- Is a precious, smart, lively, sassy, friendly, loving, adorable little girl.
- Is still quite tall for her age. (We'll measure her at her 3 year old check up on Tuesday and update then).  **Update: Sarah is 40 inches tall (97th percentile), 36.4 pounds (90th percentile), and her BMI is 15.99 (58th percentile).  She is about the height of an average 4 year old!
- Eats just about anything I put in front of her, is great about trying new foods, and loves to dip foods (in ranch dressing, veggie dip, sauces, ketchup, etc.).
- Wears 4T clothes and princess pull ups.
- Is still not particularly interested in the potty.  We have sticker charts, princess underpants, incentives, prizes, and promises that Cinderella will call her on the phone when she goes on the potty, but so far, she just isn't interested.
- Loves princesses, especially Cinderella and enjoys dressing up in her princess dress daily.
- Loves to pretend and play with dolls and figurines.  Right now, her Grumpy Bear (the blue CareBear with the cloud on his tummy) is her "baby" and she strolls him around in a baby stroller and tucks him into a crib in her room, etc.
- Loves to play with her brother and can hold her own in a game of pretend football in the playroom.
- Still takes an afternoon nap, though she fought us on that for a few days recently before going back to taking a nap well.
- Loves to kiss and hug her baby brother.
- Is very excited to go to preschool next fall.
- Gives great hugs.
- Makes Mommy and Daddy smile every day!

Sarah's birthday fell on a Saturday this year, so we figured it would be the perfect day to have her birthday party.  We had family over to celebrate and stayed up VERY late the 2 nights before the party tackling our biggest cake project yet!
Princess castle cake!
...and Cinderella cake too!

Sarah enjoyed dressing up in her Cinderella dress for the party!
Here she comes looking for her lost slipper...
Uncle Brian dressed up as Prince Charming...
and was searching the kingdom for the beautiful girl that had dropped her slipper...
 It fit Princess Sarah!

Trevor enjoyed the party and was all smiles as he hung out in his swing during dinner time.
Sarah showing off that she is 3!
(I love how she holds up 3 fingers by showing her middle, ring, and pinkie finger.)
Sarah asked Alexis and Austin to help her open her presents.
She literally squealed with delight each time she opened a gift!

Then it was time for cake!

Reading princess stories with Auntie Michelle.
It is such a blessing to enjoy celebrations with family!
