We've been keeping busy lately. Steve has started busy season, so we're eager to make it to April 15th. I have been taking a bunch of random photos of the kids. Trevor is being SO smiley and playful lately.
Trevor just started eating solids. He started with baby oatmeal.
He made some pretty funny faces at first.
But he ended up really liking it!
Austin wanted to be the one to take a video of Trevor eating his first solids.
I think the most entertaining part of this video is Austin's videography.
Sarah thought it was hilarious.
Later, for his first baby food puree, he had prunes! Daddy picked out prunes. I thought it was kinda mean to make his first experience with fruit prunes, but he didn't seem to hate them too much.
In other Trevor news, before starting solids, he had repeated episodes of head tilt, vomiting, etc. that had led us to the MRI a couple months ago, so we decided to complete his neurology workup by going ahead with an EEG to make sure he wasn't having seizures. Blessedly, the EEG was totally normal. Yay! The sleep deprivation part was VERY difficult, though. We had to keep him awake until 11pm the night before the EEG, then had to wake him up at 5am and keep him awake until the EEG at 10am (including in the car on the way there). Nanny came with us to drive, and I sat in the back with Trevor and Sarah and had to work very hard at keeping Trevor awake. I even had to resort to a ziploc baggie filled with ice that I would touch to his head or cheek whenever he started to doze off. He hated it, but as soon as we got him out of his car seat and checked in at the hospital, he was charming the staff there and being adorable and smiley. As soon as we got in to the EEG and got his head measured and prepped for the study, we finally got to let him go to sleep. I snuggled him for a few minutes and he was totally out for the entire EEG. This photo is actually pretty creepy seeing him all hooked up to the EEG, but I was SO happy he got to sleep finally! This photo makes him look like a sick child (which he is NOT - yay!).
He hasn't had any further vomiting episodes since then, but he has developed worsening discomfort with feedings over the past month and he screams and arches his back and shows other classic signs of reflux while feeding (but not much while not feeding), so we're giving an acid reflux medication a try to see if it helps him feel better. It is definitely a trick trying to get the medication in him, but it does seen to be making him more comfortable. We'll give a while longer to see if it really makes a difference.
More happy smiley baby photos.
He loves playing in his exersaucer.
The big kids have been having fun playing in the playroom. They play pretty well together most of the time, though there are still fights to break up at times. Sarah loves to play with her princess figurines, her Weeble castle, and her dollhouse. Austin loves to play pretend games of basketball and football. He picks which teams are playing, puts one of his 3 Notre Dame jerseys and then acts out the games, giving us updates as he plays on who is scoring points, who has the ball, and what the final score is. It is really quite adorable! Here, Sarah draped her blanket over her legs and declared that she was the "Notre Dame Irish Band" and then proceeded to belt out the ND Fight Song!
Touchdown!
Playing dollhouse together.
Trevor is a great little player now too. He likes to lay on his tummy and scoot around or rotate to grab toys he wants. He also rolls around everywhere and can get across the room pretty quickly. You can't take your eyes off him for a second or he's into something you didn't think he could get to.
Trevor is also getting really good at sitting on his own. He still topples over now and then, but if you sit behind him or have a boppy pillow around his back for when he falls over, he's all set. He loves to sit and play with toys. And lastly, a random video of Trevor playing with Sarah's birthday balloons.
Coming up next...Sarah's 3 year photos by Tracie Bea Photographie. They turned out gorgeous!
