The kids were pretty excited to show Gramma and PopPop our new house, especially their playroom.
Tickle time
Tea parties!
On Friday afternoon, we headed to the toy store for Austin to pick out some birthday gifts. Toys R Us is definitely an overwhelming place for the adults in the group (especially now that Austin has moved on from the toddler toys to the bigger kid toys). After that, we headed to the Mall of America and let the kids try some rides! Neither of them had ever been on rides before and there were some cute little kid rides they could go on with Mommy and Daddy as "chaperones". First, Austin and Daddy went on the swings ride.
Then Sarah's first ride...Mommy and Sarah went on the balloon ride.
Austin and Daddy went too.
After the little roller coaster we hopped on the carousel.
After the rides, we headed to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner. The kids loved the fish tanks and "thunderstorms", but their favorite was the chomping alligator at the front of the restaurant. Sarah occupied herself with coloring intently and both kids were really well behaved. We got to lay low on Saturday and have fun going for walks, playing in the playroom, and enjoying the kids' new toys. Austin was really excited about his new truck from Auntie PiPi, his remote control car from Gramma and PopPop, and of course, his new Pop-a-matic Trouble game.
We took Gramma and PopPop to the airport on Sunday. Sarah waved goodbye from the window and cried, "Wait for me!" We look forward to seeing them again!
In other fun...Sarah is talking so much more every day. She can now recite the ABCs. We got a video of her saying it last week (and she is already so much better at it than in this video). My smart baby!
And Sarah had so much fun trick-or-treating that she wanted to put her costume on again and, when she did, she insisted on trick-or-treating again. Even after taking it off, she tried to put her costume on herself.
