Nanny, Grandpa, Auntie Michelle, and Uncle Brian came down on Saturday to help us get the food ready for Sunday brunch after the baptism. Mom also brought a chocolate birthday cake since it was my birthday and Michael's birthday on the 10th and Grandpa's birthday on the 11th. By majority vote, it was decided that cutting the cake for dessert on Saturday was OK. Here is Austin singing me and Grandpa "Happy Birthday" and sticking his fingers in the cake.
A recurring theme...Grandpa sleeping, Sarah sleeping.
Baptism Day, February 14
Sarah wore the baptism gown that I wore for my baptism. It was Jenna's baptism gown originally.
Sarah's Godmother Auntie Michelle also was baptized in the same gown.
Sarah with Mommy, Daddy, and Godparents Michelle and Brian.
Big Brother Austin ready to go.

Blessing the babies to start the Mass. One of the nurses I work with at Mayo was having her baby Owen baptized at the same Mass.
Godparents blessing Sarah.
Then the procession to start the Mass.
Austin started walking with us, all smiles, but by about halfway around the church, he was in tears and had to be carried by Daddy the rest of the way.
Then halfway through the Mass...
"I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit..."
Sarah did great and didn't make a peep.
Sucking her thumb contentedly.
Godparents Michelle and Brian presenting Sarah with her baptism bib and candle.
Sarah with parents and Godparents.
My little angel...all oily from her blessing with the chrism.

Christopher and Austin hanging out after Mass.

Back to our house for brunch...

We made 3 yummy egg bakes, fruit salad, muffins, cinnamon bread, and punch.
A cake for Sarah (matching the one that we had made for Austin's baptism)
Christopher snuggling Sarah
Opening gifts.
Austin got a whoopie cushion from Fichtels and LOVED it. He and Alexis had such fun with it that they actually ended up breaking it.
We have been pretty short on sleep and were up in the middle of the night putting the egg bakes in the crock pots, so we were pretty tired. Steve was so tuckered out he fell asleep, even with his cake waiting to be eaten.
Snuggles with Godparents.

Austin didn't last long in church this time. Usually we sit in the back and he has a little bit of room to roam and stay out of trouble. We also have a bag of books, toys, and graham cracker cookies to occupy him. This time, we were sitting in front with little wiggle room for where he could roam without getting into trouble. He ended up running around out in the Narthex with Nanny or Uncle Michael. It was donut Sunday and Austin, Alexis, and Michael managed to find all the donuts set out in the gym, so they ended up hanging out in the gym eating donuts during the baptism Mass.

All in all, it was a blessed day of celebration of Sarah's baptism. Thanks to all the family that drove down here to be with us.
A few other fun photos recently...

Next up is another trip up to the Twin Cities to look at more houses this week while Steve is at work. Austin is sick with a croup cough, so hopefully he'll be feeling better soon and won't get Sarah sick. Stay tuned for Sarah's newborn pictures. We had her photos done last Thursday and should be getting the photos soon. I'll post some of my favorites, though I have a feeling it will be difficult to choose favorites since it seems like we got lots of fantastic pictures. She was very cooperative and Mandy (www.tempreckphotography.com) did a great job!

Reading with my babies.
This "Five Little Monkeys Storybook Treasury" was a gift from Ann and Phil and Austin absolutely LOVES it! We have read it multiple times every day. However, instead of taking the "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" as a cautionary tale, Austin has decided to take it as an example and has been jumping on the bed like a crazy little monkey!
