He has been getting a little more aggressive about trying to "help" with her (shoving her pacifier in her mouth, trying to pick her up, etc.) Before Sarah was born, I bought a baby doll to give Austin. This is a tip we pediatricians give expectant parents to help alleviate some of the sibling jealousy when a parent has to spend time taking care of a new baby and the older sibling feels left out. Then the older child has a baby to take care of too, while mommy or daddy takes care of the new baby. Well, I realized yesterday that I had not yet given the doll to Austin. I decided to get it out yesterday while we were in Sarah's room playing while I hung up her laundry. He LOVED it! It is a girl baby doll but I also got a tiny boy outfit in case Austin wanted a boy baby doll. Austin chose a girl baby, so we left the baby doll in her cute pink jammies she came in. The baby moves her mouth and makes sucking noises when you put her bottle up to her mouth, she giggles when you squeeze her tummy, and she cries or coos when you squeeze her hands or feet. He has so much fun feeding her the bottle. He has been watching mommy feed Sarah milk (breastfeeding), so he was very excited to feed his baby doll some milk.
I then took some photos of Sarah in her rocking chair (though we are still awaiting the replacement cushions we ordered 9.5 weeks ago).
I also tried taking some photos of Sarah the other day propped up in her boppy pillow when she was wearing a really cute outfit. This is a little "Classic Pooh" gray and pink plaid dress with a pink collared ruffled onesie shirt underneath and cute white tights.
Austin has many moments of mischief, but some of them are so cute, I just have to laugh. Steve got me a box of chocolates for Valentine's Day and before I made lunch for Austin and fed Sarah, I was really hungry and wasn't going to get lunch for a little while, so I picked a chocolate to munch on to tide me over until lunch. While I had the box open choosing one to try, Austin ran up, snatched a chocolate and started gnawing away on it. I let him keep the chocolate, but made him stay in the kitchen to eat it, because he was dropping little chunks of chocolate and drooling dark chocolaty drool on his shirt, socks, and the floor. He put way too much in his mouth at once and had trouble chewing such a big bite, but would not give up on it. He loved it!
