Fall Fun!

We had a busy, fun weekend despite the cold weather that moved in this week. It was consistently in the 30s or low 40s, with rain off and on through the week and snow in the forecast for the weekend. So on Saturday, we got Austin bundled up in his new winter coat from Gramma and PopPop to head to story time. It is nice and cozy warm. As usual, Austin had a blast at story time with Mr. Peter.
After we got home, he had fun reading stories to Daddy. He's got most of his stories memorized and "reads" them back to us with the same tone and inflection that we have used when we read them to him. So cute!
It was fire safety week, so after nap, we headed to the fire station for an open house. Austin had fun exploring the fire trucks, playing with the hose, and especially eating cookies and milk while following Sparky the Dalmation around the firehouse.

Austin squirting the fire hose (with some help of course...those things are heavy!)

I think he was most entertained by the cookies...
Mom, I'm trying to eat my cookie...stop trying to take my picture. And of course, chocolate milk, too.
Checking out Sparky the Fire Dog (while chowing his cookie, of course). He followed Sparky around and asked where he was whenever he lost sight of him. We had to make Austin step aside and stop monopolizing Sparky, so that other kids could meet him too.
He thought the fact that he could see his reflection in the fire truck wheel was pretty cool.
We intended to go to Tweite's Pumpkin Patch for the past couple weekends, but rainy weather and other plans prevented us from going. We were thinking of going on this Saturday morning with free passes from the Mayo Fellows' Association, but when we arrived and picked up the passes, it was only 30 degrees and windy and we had a tired and cranky toddler in the car...so we decided to save the passes for another day. Today, there was nicer weather (around 45 degrees, no rain, little wind) and Austin was up from his nap around 2:15pm, so we had plenty of time to spend the afternoon at the pumpkin patch.

We had lots of fun at the pumpkin patch and got to explore almost all the extra areas of the park we didn't make it to last year....
Tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch.

Once we were out to the pumpkin patch, Austin became attached to one of the wagons available for lugging the pumpkins around.Enjoying the pumpkin patch...

Then off to the other parts of the farm...
The big slides...
Lots of things to climb...
Getting so big...
And of course, running around chasing Mommy.

We even went through the corn maze...

Running to give Daddy hugs.
One of my favorite photos from today...
Austin's little legs wore out by the end of the afternoon, so he got a piggy back ride from Mommy to finish out the corn maze.
We had lots of fun and are now all tuckered out. If only we had another weekend to recover from our busy weekend! Back to work tomorrow. Next baby checkup on Wednesday.

As an aside, here is a video from last weekend at Nanny and Grandpa's house. Just some silliness at dinner time...
