Success!

Since returning from our trip, we have been encouraging Austin to sit on his potty more. He is excited about it and likes sitting on it out in the living room or the kitchen instead of in the bathroom.
Sitting on the potty, reading stories with Nanny.
Running around trying out his new big boy underwear
(which he gets to wear when he's potty trained, of course).
Hugs for Nanny. New underwear is so exciting!
Recently, we have been offering him time to sit on the potty after dinner each night and at various times throughout the day. He sits on the potty for a while, but doesn't go. Then, as soon as we decide it's time to move on to the bathtub, he pees in the bathtub. So tonight, I decided to put the potty in the tub while we filled up the tub. As soon as we put the potty in the bathtub, he did it! He peed in the potty! Yay! He got lots of praise, a bunny marshmallow, and a Veggie Tales sticker that he put on his jammies and wore to bed.

Other fun stuff....

When I don't have to work on a Saturday here and there, I like to take Austin to story time at ABC Toy Zone. On Saturdays there is story time with Peter, who always sings Austin's favorites, "The Wheels on the Bus" and "Baby Beluga", and reads some fun kids' stories. I brought the camera along this past Saturday...

Austin likes to be right up front...
Or sit in a chair in the back.
Having lots of fun patting his legs and singing along with Peter.
At the end, each child gets a balloon and gets to pick which color. Austin usually picks pink and happily rides home bopping the balloon around the back of the car.

Austin had a hard time with mommy being gone for Mother's Day this year. I was on call and he was excited to come visit "mommy's work" for dinner that night, but wasn't able to because I was really busy that night and get a chance to eat dinner until much later that night. So when I got home the next day, Austin didn't want anything to do with mommy and only wanted daddy. He got mad if I even came near him. So we had a little play time at the park and I pushed him on the swings, then we headed home to cook dinner.

While the ham was cooking, Austin and I made cookies. We laid out his Pooh Bear mat, put out all our ingredients, and had fun making a big mess and yummy cookies!
Tasting the flour......but deciding he doesn't like it so much!

His favorite part...the beaters!
The cookies were delicious!

That's all for now. We'll keep working on potty training bit by bit, though we are definitely not inclined to push it. Whenever he's ready, his Sesame Street underwear is waiting!
