This past week, we had the opportunity to celebrate how THANKFUL we are for the wonderful family and friends in our lives and all our amazing blessings. We headed up to Nanny and Grandpa's house on Wednesday evening and spent Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday with lots of family.
Austin had fun helping Nanny cut things up for the salad. Austin has his own cutting board, "food" to cut, and a wooden "knife". He had lots of fun helping out!
We had Thanksgiving dinner at Jenna and Michael's house with lots of family!
The lovely cook, Jenna! She makes such yummy turkey...and she always makes two so that there are lots of leftovers.
The Fichtels - hard to believe I took care of these kids when Christopher was Austin's age. Time sure flies!

Elizabeth and Alexis

Dad taking a picture, but not willing to set his beer down to do it.

Austin enjoying Alexis's toys.

Alexis with Kevin and Steve

Alexis pouncing on snitches of turkey while it was being carved.

Uncle Greg even made it up from Illinois to join us for Thanksgiving! Here he is with GiGi (my nanny, his mommy).

Mom, Trish, Jeannie, and Jenna

Kevin managed to convince Alexis to try to eat her food without using her hands...

Austin also discovered the laundry chute! Grandpa showed him how to put his jammies down the laundry chute and he thought it was the funniest thing! He wanted to keep doing it over and over again, so Nanny gave him a towel to throw down.
Then he got to go downstairs to discover where it comes out.
Ah, the little things that entertain a 2 year old!

We stayed at Nanny and Grandpa's on Friday too. We did NOT go shopping. It is sooooo not worth the hassle of fighting the "Black Friday" crowds. Instead we spent a relatively quiet day hanging out at Nanny and Grandpa's.
Austin got to sit at the table like a big boy without his highchair tray and he was so proud!

Then it was back to Rochester, since I was on call in the Pediatric ICU on Saturday. We're keeping busy as usual, but looking forward to putting up the Christmas tree this week. It will be fun to see what Austin thinks of the tree (even though it will displace his toys in the family room).
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for! We count ourselves very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in our lives!
