Austin
got a new toy from Gramma and Grandpop and he has lots of fun playing with it.
It is an Elmo See-and-Say toy that has removable shapes on the front. When you
pull off one of the shapes, it reveals a Sesame Street character beneath and
says "Peekaboo! You found Cookie Monster. Cookie Monster is blue!"
(or other name of character in there, etc....you get the idea). Then when you
put it back in the right spot, it says "Wow! You found the blue
rectangle!" He loves it and can now find any character upon request. Here
he is enjoying his new toy...
But...if
you pull the knob on the side it sometimes talks and asks where a certain
character is, and it sometimes makes Elmo start singing. Whenever it starts
singing, this is what happens...
Whenever
any of Austin's toys start to sing, he sobs until Mommy or Daddy turns it off
and consoles him. Go figure!
(p.s. Am I a bad mommy because I think this second picture is hilarious?)

Austin's favorite thing these days is climbing up on the couch and plopping down on it. He also adores his blue bear. He carries him around the house, gives him kisses and hugs all day long, snuggles with him, and demands that he sits with us when we read bedtime stories. Here he is snuggling with bear...
And reading to him...
When
we went up to visit Nanny and Grandpa a couple weekends ago, we got a shelving
unit at Ikea to organize Austin's playroom. It was getting so full of toys,
there was no room to run around and play. We finally put the shelves together
and organized his toys in the bins. I forgot to take a before picture, but the
end result is amazing! He now has lots of room to run and play, which will be
key as it gets colder and he is stuck inside more. Check out the beautifully
organized playroom...
Then Austin got a hold of it. He
immediately pulled a few of the bins out and dumped them on the floor so he
could get into the bin. It is still working out great, though, since we have an
easy way to clean up the toys and make the room feel bigger.

I
love that shelf from Ikea! I have been eyeing it for a couple of months now
since we had to move all of Luke's toys from the screen porch to his bedroom
(so they wouldn't get dirt on them).... too bad I have to convince Ben to take
the 2 hour drive to Ikea.... need to work on him!:)
