Kicking Off Fall

Austin had freshman orientation at MTU and then got started with classes.

Here is a photo from MTU's social media of the freshman class on the football field.

I am jealous.  Luke (Austin's friend from BSM who also goes to MTU) sends his mom cute photos like this first day of school picture.
I get this....

Since then, he occasionally sends us photos of what he's up to, mostly with the band.  Sometimes photos even include things he has been cooking at the "ASS House" with his band section friends - like apple pie, chili, and spinach artichoke pasta.

A portion of the band that played in a parade about an hour from campus. (See if you can spot Austin)

Sarah had a kick off for Production at the studio.
(She is top left in this photo).
And started school - 10th grade at BSM this year.

Sadly, before Trevor started school, tragedy struck at a local school and Church.
The Annunciation Church and School was attacked during the school year's opening Mass and 2 children were killed and many more injured by gunfire.

Advocacy for the safety of children is so important.
I love the message this parish community spread after the tragedy.
"When you pray, move your feet."

Trevor began 7th grade at Twin Oaks Middle School.
(He wears this jacket every day!)

We got little glimpses of what Austin was up to.
Got his band overalls.

Sarah's dance team is the Senior Elite team at the studio this year.

In September, a group of my colleagues and I traveled to Florida for a weekend at Universal Studios theme parks to celebrate Caitlin's upcoming wedding.
We had a blast!

We headed to Notre Dame for the family game this fall, but Austin had homecoming at MTU that weekend, so we missed him.
He had fun celebrating homecoming with his new friends!

A new experience for us at Notre Dame...we had about and 1.5 hour delay during the game when they evacuated the stadium due to lightning!
We hung out in the concourse and I walked back to the car to get the ponchos for the rain, but they also opened up the nearby campus buildings and, in true ND style, they had the movie "Rudy" playing in the auditorium of the business school classroom building next to the stadium!

Next up....fall sports.
Sarah competed in YAGP in October and Trevor started his local and regional fencing tournaments for the year.
