Sarah turned 12 in the end of January!
At 12 years old, Sarah:
- is 5 ft 7.25 inches tall (99.7 percentile) and she was disappointed that she was no longer 99.9 percentile!
- weighs 114.6 pounds (84.4 percentile) and has BMI below average at 46th percentile.
- is above average in every other aspect of life (well, maybe not on picking up her room!)
- is bright and talented.
- is in every honors class possible at school and getting straight As without much difficulty.
- is enjoying learning Spanish in school and does DuoLingo in her free time to learn more.
- loves to read and often has 10 or so books in process at once, usually spread out on the floor of her room.
- loves to cook and bake. We have lots of cookbooks for her and more from the library. She makes us amazing meals and has been making cupcakes for my clinic staff lately (lemon first, then Boston cream, Fruity Pebbles by request, and then the most amazing salted caramel cupcakes ever!).
- makes meal plans for the week recently and will pre-make meals that Daddy can just pop in the oven or heat up on the stove on busy weeknights when Mom isn't home from work yet and the kids all have activities/sports to get to.
- wanted a kitchen torch for her birthday so she could make creme brûlée. We got it for her, but haven't attempted to use it yet. Definitely requires supervision!
- still LOVES ballet and dance 5-6 days per week, with 5 hours of ballet weekly.
- has a ballet solo this year that she is VERY excited about! She starts competing next weekend (March 3rd), but is still awaiting the arrival of her costume! Supply chain issues and shipping problems have caused many dance studios to struggle to get costumes to come in time. The costume we bought Sarah has been shipped and arrived in the US from China, but is stuck in customs and not moving. We got a back up costume rush shipped and are hoping it arrives, but still hope for her to get a chance to perform/compete in her original costume.
To celebrate her birthday and her love of ballet, we made her birthday cake to look like her ballet solo costume!
Happy Birthday Sarah!
