Sarah's 10th Birthday!

Sarah turned 10!

At 10 years old, Sarah:
- is VERY tall!  She measured 61.8 inches tall, which is 99.6 percentile for age and 3.8 inches taller than 1 year ago!  She weighs 87.8 pounds (81st percentile), for a BMI of 16 (37th percentile).
- is in 4th grade at SACS (but is in 5th grade advanced math, the little smarty pants!).  Her math teacher was in Kevin's graduating class in high school and was in my AP calculus class when I was a sophomore and he was a senior.
- loves to read and always has multiple books going at once, spread out all over her room. She earned enough AR (Accelerated Reader) points in the first 2 quarters of the school year to earn "Principal for a Day" and she is excited for a fun experience!
- has been taking piano lessons for the past 1.5 years and is doing quite well at it!  She has many songs memorized, performs beautifully at her recitals, and will be performing at school for an upcoming school program (the "State Fair" where they present their projects on states in the US).
- still LOVES to dance and is on the Junior Dream Angels team at her studio, competing in jazz, tap, lyrical, ballet, and production this year.  Ballet is still by far her absolute favorite! We will be heading to Branson, MO for nationals in the end of June (where they won nationals with their production 2 summers ago).  I love watching her perform and do what she loves!
- is a happy, sweet, sassy, smart, messy, slow-poke.  Her nickname is "Slobber-ella McSassyPants" and we've determined that her patronus is a sloth! (Harry Potter reference, if you have no idea what I'm talking about).
- bring us such joy and love. We are so blessed to be her family!

For Sarah's 10th birthday party, she chose a family party with a Harry Potter theme.
We had some fun decor and yummy themed treats.
We were searching for some escaped witches and wizards...
And watching out for moving staircases...

Here is Sarah with her Honeydukes Sweet Shop!
Chocolate frogs, golden snitches, chocolate pretzel wands, broomsticks, and Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans (including booger, earwax, worm, dirt, soap, and vomit flavors among others).
Trevor dressed up in his Hogwarts robes and enjoyed the chocolate frogs especially.
Golden snitches (made of Ferrero Roche truffles)
Chocolate pretzel wands
Peanut butter cup broomsticks
Chocolate frogs and Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans

We made butter beer again, this time trying out 2 different recipes.  Both were delicious!
The birthday girl's birthday butter beer and chocolate frog!
Quinn was Sarah's shadow for the night and they had some fun playtime and snuggles.
Nanny made our little book worm an adorable card, as usual!
Then cake time!  Sarah requested a butter beer cake, so I made a butterscotch cake with marshmallow fluff buttercream frosting, topped with butterscotch sauce and a golden snitch!  It turned out very delicious!
We love this crazy bunch!

Happy Birthday Sarah!
May 10 years old be a magical, beautiful year!
