Austin's Traveling Basketball Season (and Trevor's Little Dribblers)

Austin made one of the C teams again this year for traveling basketball.  They had a great team this year and won a LOT of great games and tournaments, including winning their division at the MSF State Tournament!

I was not very good about taking photos this season, as I either forgot to bring the nice camera or I was too excited watching the game to remember to take photos.  Here are some of the pics I did catch along the way.

Champions at the Burnsville Tournament to start the season off right!

2nd place at the Early Bird Tournament in Rochester (right before Thanksgiving).

Rosemount Tournament

Austin was also a helper at the basketball program at SACS for the little kids, called "Little Dribblers."  He helped the parent coaches teach the Kindergarteners how to play basketball.
Trevor had fun learning to dribble, shoot, pass, and defend.  Kindergarteners playing basketball is so CUTE!
Here Trevor is learning to dribble.
How to hold the ball when he shoots.
That basket is so high when you're still little!

Then off to Austin's tournament at Shakopee High School

Lakeville North Tournament

Happy Birthday to me!  Victory at the Cottage Grove Tournament!

Off to state!  The kids had fun staying overnight at a hotel near the tournament site.

State Champions!!
We played some tough games to win the MSF State Tournament.  One of the games ended up being against the other Shakopee 6th grade C team.  The most memorable moment was in the championship game against the ML Kings. Austin set his feet on defense and took a charge by the biggest player on their team.  The charge was called by the refs and Austin got knocked down and thrown right out of his shoe!  He got flattened, but when the foul was called, it made the other team's player foul out.  The whole team celebrated and Austin got up off the ground and jumped up and down holding his shoe aloft.  It was hilarious and quite memorable!  They came from behind in that game and roared ahead and never looked back.  What an exciting championship win!

We are so proud of this team!  They worked really hard and played even harder!  They were quite often outmatched on size, but did very well against some very tough teams.  We had a great time cheering them on this year!
