Austin turned 11 years old on November 9th! I can't believe he is growing up so fast!
At 11 years old, Austin:
- is 57.75 inches tall (67th percentile), weighs 81.8 pounds (56th percentile), and has a BMI of 17.24 (51st percentile).
- is in the 5th grade and is doing very well, getting As and A-s for grades in the first quarter. He has done a great job in the first quarter of being responsible about getting his homework done and turned in. He is in the accelerated math class, going through 5th and 6th grade math this year at double the pace of the regular class. He is also in the top reading class.
- started playing saxophone this year and is learning quickly. He has a great tone when he plays and is enjoying practicing. We are also enjoying hearing his practice at home. He got his Auntie Diana's saxophone as a hand-me-down and is loving it!
- is on the C1 (top level) soccer team for his age group (U12 this year). He will be doing winter training and futsal in between basketball practices and tournaments this winter, then will have his main season this spring/summer.
- made the traveling basketball team (C) this winter and is having a blast with his team. They have played 2 tournaments so far and got 2nd place in the first and won the second tournament.
- is still an avid reader! He has been particularly enjoying reading sports books, and it is amazing to see how he retains every little bit of information. The kid is a walking sports encyclopedia (especially regarding Notre Dame sports!).
- has suck a sweet heart! He is the most loving kid. He gets into spats with his siblings like any kid, but he still gives me big hugs (even in public!) and is really great with little kids. He'll be a great Daddy when he grows up!
On Saturday, we had a birthday party for Austin after 2 basketball tournament games...(they won both games by a lot).
Team huddle
Going for the rebound
Of course, the whoopie cushion made an appearance.
"Happy Birthday to you..."
Tournament Champs!
