Basketball, Baptism, Balloonacy, and Birthday!

The past week, I took the week off work and we had a LOT going on!

Over the weekend, Austin played in his first basketball tournament on the traveling team.  His team placed 2nd in the tournament, but he had a game on Saturday and two games on Sunday.  The games on Sunday unfortunately overlapped with Dean's baptism! We had breakfast at the Chesters, then brought Austin over to the tournament before the rest of us headed to the church for the Mass and then baptism.
Austin does a great job snuggling babies.
He held Dean.
Then the much tinier Quinn.
Godmother snuggles.
The new babies in the family

Then off to Austin's basketball tournament to catch the championship game.  His team lost the final game, but was up against a team from the level above his team's. They worked hard and had a great time in their first tourney!
After the tournament, we took the kids home and Nanny babysat while Steve and I went to see the touring Broadway production of "Finding Neverland".

On Tuesday, while the big kids were at school, I took Trevor to Children's Theater Company for "Balloonacy".  The theater lobby had fun activities to do before the show, then we headed into the theater and the kids had benches right up front to see the show.  Trevor loved it!

On Wednesday, we got to see Alexis swim in the regionals swim meet with the varsity swim team (she is only in 7th grade!) for my alma mater Benilde-St. Margaret's!  She did a great job and took 9 seconds off her qualifying time in the 500 meter freestyle! Yay Alexis!

Wednesday was also the birthday Mass at school for November birthdays (Austin!), so we got to enjoy the birthday social and Mass at school.  Thursday was Austin's birthday, so after his basketball team photos in the evening, we let him pick a restaurant for dinner (Pizza Ranch) and then came home to let him open his gifts.
We got him a new ND winter hat like his Timberwolves camp one he loves.
And some books about ND soccer, basketball, and football!
This book about ND football, he has checked out from the library so many times, we figured he'd enjoy his own copy.

The kids had school off on Friday and Austin had his 11 year old checkup with Dr. Bob. He is excited to be tall enough to not need a booster seat in the car anymore!  Trevor is getting big for the convertible car seat, so he is going to move to Sarah's high back booster and Sarah can have Austin's backless booster.  What a big kid he is!

Next up ... birthday party for Austin's 11th birthday!
