Our birthday boy Trevor is 5!
At 5 years old, Trevor:
- is 44.2 inches tall (73rd percentile), weighs 42.6 pounds (62nd percentile), and has a BMI of 47th percentile (on 9/14 at his 5 year well child checkup).
- is 44.2 inches tall (73rd percentile), weighs 42.6 pounds (62nd percentile), and has a BMI of 47th percentile (on 9/14 at his 5 year well child checkup).
- is full of hugs and kisses for Mommy and Daddy. He has to have a hug before Mommy leaves for work or he gets very upset!
- is energetic, active, and excitable. I wish I could bottle his energy and steal a little for myself. Instead, he saps mine and seems to have an endless supply!
- played soccer this past spring for the first time, and had a KIDS (Kids In Developmental Sports) class over the summer that he enjoyed.
- is doing very well in swimming lessons and always has the teachers flocking to his lane (despite being the only kid in his class this session) because he is so fun and entertaining.
- is bright and witty. He is so funny and has great comedic timing.
- uses all sorts of big words you wouldn't expect to come out of a 5 year old's mouth! (For example, earlier this year, he saw a toy at Target he liked and he said, "Mommy, come look at this! This is just astonishing me!")
- loves to play with his brother and sister, but fights with them quite a bit too.
- loves to play with cars and was very excited to get to see Cars 3 in the big new theater when it came out this summer.
- is very interested in sharks and has checked out almost every book the Eden Prairie library has about sharks. He can identify way more kinds of sharks than I can, that's for sure!
- loves to have Daddy snuggles at bedtime. He still naps on some days, depending on the family's schedule for the day.
- is going to his 2nd year of preschool this year, going 3 half days per week.
- loves peanut butter and honey sandwiches, bell peppers, applesauce, and chocolate milk.
- is my "spirited child" in all sorts of challenging and wonderful ways.
After arriving home from Texas the day after his birthday, we took a day to prep for his 2nd birthday party (this time at home). We had family over and Trevor was showered with gifts. He got his gifts from Daddy and I when we got home from our trip, then got lots more fun goodies from family at the party.
Another pirate ship! (He really wanted this one, despite having many other pirate ships. He did make a comment later in the day that maybe it is OK if we don't get any more pirate ships after this!)
Shark bite boat (He is still really into sharks right now too!)
Jackson Storm remote control race car!
(He has played with this one so much we have gone through a couple sets of batteries already!)
Aunt Jeannie always finds fun stuff at Creative Kidstuff. They pulled out this game to play right away. Think they're having any fun? Check out the ear to ear grins!
Austin took over on the camera after a while and got some fun shots of the family in attendance.
Cake time!
Trevor wanted to wear his new Cars 3 t-shirt from Auntie Michelle and Uncle Brian for cake time!
He is really into cars right now, so we made him a Cars themed cake, with the number 5 as the race track, his name in chrome letters on the "Cars" movie sign, his new race cars from the movie as a gift on the cake, and a bunch of the Cars sponsors from the movie decorating the edges and sides of the cake!
"Happy Birthday to you..."
He was pretty excited about his cake (and 2 of the cars on it were presents from Mommy and Daddy too!)
Happy 5th Birthday Trevor!
We love you so much! (or as Trevor would say, "to Pluto and all the galaxies and everywhere and back")
