Sarah's Dance Competitions

Sarah had another 2 dance competitions to round out the 4 in a row this season (with Easter in between the first and 2nd).   We also got the professional photos back from the first 2 competitions.

On Saturday, April 29th, Sarah's team performed at the Masquerade Competition at Hopkins High School.
After the first 2 competitions, we're getting better at the prep stage - this time I got the hair and makeup all ready the night before, so the 5am prep would be easier.
Ready to go.
Sarah and her friends all ready to "Boogie in the Barnyard"
We had a break between dances, so we took the girls out to lunch.
We made another stop at Amy's Cupcake Shoppe for treats too.
The girls performed their jazz dance, "Ducks Dance Too" in the evening.
The girls did a great job and got "Platinum" for their tap dance and "High Gold" for their jazz dance. They also got the overall 1st place in their division for their tap dance "Boogie in the Barnyard".

The next weekend, they had their last competition, Starpower, at the Minneapolis Convention Center.  They did really well again and got 5 stars on their tap dance and 4 3/4 stars on their jazz dance. They also got 4th place overall for their tap dance in our category.  Great job girls!

This one was a bit of a whirlwind, so I didn't grab many photos. Here are a couple before they took the stage.
Warming up and having fun.
Ready for the last competition!

We were able to take non-flash photos of the girls on the stage, so I snagged a couple on my phone as they started each of their dances.  Here is their jazz dance "Ducks Dance Too."

And the beginning of their tap dance "Boogie in the Barnyard."

I got a bunch of professional photos from the first 2 competitions to use to make their Memory Book pages.  Here are some of them showing Sarah!

Next up for dance are 3 recitals in June!  It has been so fun watching Sarah enjoy her first competitive dance season. As you can see from her smiles in every photo, she has a blast performing on stage!
