Heading Into Spring

In the very end of January, we had some warmer weather, so we got our January birthday girl out on her new bike!  She was nervous about going without training wheels, but she did great on it and gets more and more confident and comfortable each time she rides.

Trevor got to visit the big kids' school on Thursdays a few more times for open gym, story time, and music class.
The kids had fun reading stories with Mrs. Moran and acting out the animals in the story.  In this photo, they are howling.
For gym time one day, the little kids got to join the 1st graders in their dance unit in PE.  The first graders were SO welcoming to the little kids and one little boy in particular stayed with Trevor and helped him learn the dance steps and participate.  He was so sweet to Trevor that we brought him some Valentine treats as a "Thank You" the next day.
Story time in the library with Mrs Greening.

Trevor and Mommy had fun playing at home on my days off.
Candy Land (particularly the Disney Princess Candy Land) has been quite popular lately.  Check out Puppy playing with us.
Trevor has been enjoying building with our MagnaTiles and with these blocks as well.

My handsome boys got haircuts and Austin usually declines the offer to use gel in his hair, but decided to try a mohawk this time.
Mommy and Daddy got to have a night out! (a sadly rare occurrence in our lives at this point) We went out for dinner at CRAVE and then saw "Newsies" the musical.  We thoroughly enjoyed having some time out and seeing a show!

Trevor has been growing into a "big boy".  He has mastered going pee on the potty and finished his potty sticker chart.
And got an ice cream treat!
We have had less success with going poop on the potty and have been scrubbing poop out of his underwear multiple times per day...but TODAY, he went poop on the potty!  (And we rejoiced!)
(Yes, I took a photo of my kid with his poop in the potty - we're VERY excited about this milestone!)

He also has been insisting on making his own sandwiches for lunch.

He got his own library card!
And then saved various parts of the library from fire as a little fireman!
Trevor also got to start swimming lessons!  We used it as a bribe to get him to potty train.  When Sarah had her swim lessons, Trevor would see the little kids across the pool and wanted to "swim on the steps" with them.  I told him when he could go on the potty and wear big kid underpants, that he could start swim lessons (I really didn't want to have to do the required non-disposable swim diaper). He has had 2 weeks of lessons now and is loving it!

Sarah has lost a bunch of teeth lately!  She now has lost both front top teeth and 2 other teeth on the bottom.  She has been raking in $2 bills from the tooth fairy!

Sarah got to join Auntie Michelle and Uncle Brian for a show at Stages Theater.  They saw "The Snow Queen" and Theo got to see his first stage show.

And, of course, March Madness has arrived, so Brian and Austin were comparing brackets and Austin called Grandpa on his vacation in Florida to give him his picks.  Austin's bracket picks were really good last year (he got all but 1 of the first round correct - even the upsets!), so Grandpa wanted to enter his bracket in a pool this year.

We have had some great weather lately, so we have been getting outside to shoot hoops in the driveway, walk/bike to the park, and enjoy the sunshine.  We do still live in Minnesota though, so even though we've had unseasonably warm weather for a couple weeks (we got up to upper 60s in February!), we still got about 8 or so inches of snow yesterday!  It is March in Minnesota after all!  (It did almost completely melt today!)

For Holy Week, the kids at SACS did a Living Stations of the Cross today.  Each class in grades 2-5 contributed.  Austin's class did station 3 - Jesus falls for the first time.  Austin was chosen to be Jesus and did a great job!

Up next, Easter!  We have a busy weekend planned with lots of family fun!
