Sunday on the St. Croix!

On Sunday, we threw together some impromptu plans to gather with family at Jenna and Michael's cabin on the St. Croix River.  After church, a quick stop at the grocery store, and lunch, we packed up and headed out to Wisconsin.  We had a great afternoon!

Trevor was happy to hang out on the beach with Nanny...
And kick his toes in the sand.
Austin went swimming and jumped off the dock with Alexis and some of the neighborhood kids.

Sarah had more fun throwing rocks, digging in the sand, and dipping her hands and feet in the water.  She did swim a bit, but preferred to be on land.
Sarah said she wanted to go on the jet ski, but when we got her out to the jet ski, she freaked out, clawed her way back to Daddy, and screamed to go back on the sand.  Austin and Alexis had fun riding on the jet ski with Steve.
Trevor hung out on the beach and chowed some puffs.
We tried putting his toes in the water, but he was NOT a fan!
We headed out on the boat for a while.  Sarah was NOT a fan of the boat either.  She put her fingers in her ears, cried, screamed, and demanded to go back on the sand.  We kept her on the boat for a little while, then acquiesced and brought her back to the dock and Nanny took her back to the beach.  She had so much fun on the boat last year that I'm surprised she is freaking out about it again.  Anyway, the rest of us had fun on the boat...
(Check out Austin's wind blown hair.)
Austin had fun driving the boat for a bit.
And tubing with Auntie Michelle.
Alexis had fun tubing with Brian.
Trevor was so good on the boat.  He just hung out on my lap and watched the big kids go on the tube.  He fell asleep for a bit despite the bouncing boat and never fussed a bit despite the life jacket smashing his cheeks.
 Peek-a-boo under Auntie Michelle's hat.
Brian showed off his waterskiing skills.
Mermaid Alexis was buried in the sand.
Trevor tried out the tube once it was back on land.

Jenna and Michael threw some yummy food on the grill and we enjoyed some supper together, then roasted s'mores over the coals.
Thanks Jenna and Michael for hosting all of us!

p.s. We also enjoyed seeing lots more family than I managed to get on film.  Auntie Trish came. The Fichtel crew, including Tim and Jeannie, Elizabeth and Mickey, Becca, and Christopher were there for the day.  Strombecks came too, including Lizzie, who was our flower girl in our wedding 9 years ago.  She is all grown up and it makes me feel really old!  It was really fun to catch up with everybody and enjoy a day in the sun and sand.
