Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We had a pretty mellow St. Patrick's Day, enjoying some play time and getting outside in the gorgeous weather.   I didn't expect it to get this warm this early, so I didn't yet have appropriately sized summer clothes for Sarah.  She managed to squeeze into her 2T t-shirt and shorts and was on board with wearing green today. Austin, on the other hand, has been talking about wearing his "scooper truck t-shirt" for at least a week and as soon as I said it was going to be warm enough today to wear a t-shirt, he ran to his room and got dressed in red.  He was definitely not on board with the St. Patrick's Day theme, though he did agree to put his leprechaun hat from his school project on for a photo.

Sarah checking out the hat.
We did go shopping for groceries and for summer clothes for Sarah this morning, then headed home for lunch.  Then story time and Sarah went down for her nap.  As Sarah was napping, our neighbor Tammy came over to play with Austin while I popped over to the hospital to speak at a prenatal class (in place of a colleague who is currently quarantined at home by the Minnesota Department of Health). On the way home, I picked up a St. Patrick's Day treat - shamrock shakes!  The kids were pretty excited, but were more excited to go out and play, so they ended up enjoying their melting shakes while running around the yard. (Note: by this time, Austin had replaced his matching red outfit with a brown shirt because he got a bit of squash on his shirt at lunch time. hehehe).
We then headed to the park.  It was 80 degrees and sunny out today!  Are we sure this is March?  In Minnesota?  I'm a bit confused.   Anyway, I took a few photos on my iPhone this time, but still haven't managed to bring the nice camera to the park yet to capture the action.

Sliding together.
Sarah finally managed to climb the tunnel herself to get up to the slides!  Major success, as now Mommy doesn't have to lift her up to the 5 foot high platform so she can go on the upper part of the playground and get to the slides.  What a relief!
Austin had fun "helping" a few little boys around Sarah's age or younger on the little kid part of the playground.  He would help them climb up, make sure they were sitting down right to go down the slide, and was showing them all the shapes on the spinning toys mounted on the platform. What a sweetie!
That's about all we did for St. Patty's Day.  We were also able to briefly Face Time with the crew visiting Florida and say Happy Birthday to Uncle Brian!  Daddy was working all day...and is definitely ready for busy season to be done in 4 weeks.  We hope you all had a fun day!
