Grandma Dot's 90th Birthday and Early Easter Treats!

Last weekend, we were able to gather as a family to celebrate birthdays!  My mom ("Nanny" to the kids) had a big birthday and we had supper at Michelle's house on Saturday to celebrate her and how much she means to us.  Then on Sunday, we gathered at Grandma Dot's apartment to celebrate her 90th birthday!  Dorothy is a close friend of my mom's, who doesn't have any biological children of her own, but who we "adopted" as our Grandma when we were kids.  She is now "Great Grandma Dot" to my kiddos and has a lot of "family" who love her!
The Birthday Girl!
Sarah and I at the party.
Fewer than 90 candles...but blazing nonetheless.
There were cupcakes for the kids and they got to blow out candles too.
Sarah got to sit like a big kid at the dining table to eat her cake.  She's getting so grown up.

This evening, as soon as I walked through the door from work, I was greeted by 2 VERY excited children who declared that "now we can open the box."  I was briefly confused, but found out shortly that a box full of Easter gifts had arrived from Gramma and PopPop and Daddy had promised the kids that they could open it when Mommy got home from work.  They could barely wait.
Austin did a good job of reading the card out loud for Sarah.
Excited about fun toys and treats!
Quite intrigued by the squishy light up chicks.

 New puzzles!
After supper, they excitedly devoured their marshmallow treats.
Thanks for all the goodies, Gramma and PopPop!
