4 months old!

Our little Sarah is 4 months old already! She turned 4 months old on Wednesday this week (5/26) and she had her 4 month check up today. She is doing great! She weighed in at a chubby 7.82 kg (17 pounds, 3.8 ounces, >97th percentile!). She is 63.9 cm long (25 inches, 80th percentile) and, of course, is sporting the Cronk-sized head (43.3 cm which is 95th percentile). She is now wearing mostly 6 month size clothing and with the beautiful weather this week, she has gotten to try out some of her cute new summer dresses and onesies.

Sarah is doing all sorts of new things these days. She has been squealing, talking, and cooing a lot. She smiles and laughs. She is a happy and typically pretty mellow baby. She is very strong and loves to stand up and jump. She was recently introduced to the exersaucer and enjoys jumping and playing in it. She also likes to kick and now has fun grabbing onto her toes. She has been playing with more toys lately, and particularly loves to chew on things. She is drooling a lot. She really wasn't much for spitting up in the first 2 months of life, but as soon as I commented on the fact that she wasn't spitting up like Austin often did at that age...then she started spitting up. She loves her big brother and smiles at him a lot. She still gets startled by him quite frequently, though, because he talks loudly to her and likes to yell when he gets excited. She's pretty used to his antics by now, though.

She loves to stand up and sit up, but she's not quite ready to sit up on her own yet...
Austin is always ready to "help" her.
Showing Sarah how to get her toy octopus to play its music.
And, of course, we're in the stage during which everything must be explored by putting it in her mouth and drooling on it! Sorry Mr. Octopus.

We had Sarah's 4 month checkup today.
Austin was very excited to come along to see "Dr. Angie."
He quickly commandeered the doctor chair...

Check out my chubby baby girl! I can't believe how much she has grown!

Dr. Angie with Sarah. She has been taking care of our family since I moved here to start medical school about 7 years ago and she delivered both my babies. We will definitely miss her and her nurse (also named Angie) when we move.
Sarah did great with her shots today. I actually gave her the oral vaccine (rotavirus) and managed to get most of it in her. She got her first shot in one leg, cried very briefly and actually calmed right down before she got her second shot. After the second one, she cried a bit more, but calmed down as soon as I picked her up. What a tough girl!

Check out my bandaids, mommy!
Still a happy smiley girl!

Big brother loves to bring her toys to play with. I can't believe how big he is getting. He wore a very cute new outfit from Gramma and PopPop today and he looked so grown up in his plaid shorts and polo shirt!
