July is Flying By!

It certainly has been a busy July! I have been working nights (20 of them to be exact) as the senior resident on the general pediatric hospital service, plus having clinic each week and trying to get some sleep now and then. I have been home a lot more during the day, though sometimes I have to sleep so I can do another night shift that night. When I do manage to get some sleep at the hospital, then I get to have some playtime at home with Austin during the day!

Here are just some random fun pictures from the past few weeks...

Austin playing peek-a-boo by hiding under daddy's blanket on the couch. He climbs up on daddy and says "I want to hide in the beebee tent." (beebee is his word for blanket). I then go on a search for Austin and he peeks out of the blanket with a big smile on his face when I am surprised to find him.

Helping daddy unload the dishes.
Playing with his new Little People firehouse. Thanks Gramma and PopPop!
Of course, he calls the Dalmation Jack.

Enjoying the cupcakes he made with mommy.

Cool dude! He finally wanted to wear his sunglasses and wore them the whole afternoon while playing in his Cozy Coupe and going to the park.

Mommy's growing too. My belly has appeared much sooner then the first time around. Here is me at 12 weeks (on 7/16). We had our next OB check scheduled for this Wednesday, but our doctor got sick, so now we'll go in next Wednesday (7/29). With Austin, Dr. Angie was able to see he was a boy at 14 weeks and 4 days. This visit will be 13 weeks 6 days, so maybe we'll be lucky and get an early peek at whether baby is a boy or a girl! We'll probably have to wait for our next visit to be sure though. It's still pretty tough to see at this age.

Fun at the "big park" with Nanny.
Bouncy bridge!
SeeSawApparently picking up the water bottle to drink is just too much work when you're having fun at the park!
Austin's favorite toys lately have been his collection of cars. He has been driving them all over the house, all over his other toys (in and out of the Weeble castle, etc), and lining them up in the "parking garage" and other places. Here he lined them up on the steps while I was cooking dinner.
"Which one's your favorite, Austin?"
"This one, mommy! The mail truck!"

The summer is slipping by quickly. I hope you are all enjoying it. I'm going to be on a nicer schedule soon and sleeping in my own bed at night, so I am excited about that. We'll have new ultrasound pictures to post by mid-week, so stay tuned. Then we hope to see some of our family from Illinois next weekend, as we hear they may be in town up in the Twin Cities visiting.
