I hope you all had a blessed Easter! We had a busy, but wonderful weekend.
On Friday, Austin got an early visit from the Easter Bunny who was visiting kids across the street.
Then on Saturday, while daddy had to finish up tax season work, Austin and I went to an Easter egg hunt.
Here is Austin ready to go hunt eggs.
Unfortunately, we missed the egg hung. It was scheduled to start at 10am, and despite the fact that we got there at 9:55am, it was over when we got there. All the eggs had been hunted and the kids' baskets were full of eggs and treats. We did, however, get to see the Easter Bunny again!
Hi Bunny!
Hug for the Easter Bunny!

After that, we had fun playing outside in the beautiful weather. He wore himself out and had some snuggly time while watching Veggie Tales "Easter Carol."
Then we headed up to Nanny and Grandpa's house. We headed to the park to enjoy the weather, then went to the golf club for dinner. Austin is in a throwing food phase, so dinner was...well...interesting. Luckily we had Nanny and Grandpa and Auntie Michelle and Uncle Brian to distract him so he didn't cause too much of a scene.
Before bed, Austin got to make Easter eggs for the Easter bunny to hide. We figured the dye might not be the best thing to let a rambunctious 2 year old use, so instead we used the egg wraps that go around the egg and, when dipped in boiling water, form to the shape of the egg and stick to it. Austin got to pick the wraps, put the egg in, and then put the egg in the boiling water. He thought it was pretty cool!
Putting the egg in the wrap...
We dyed the white parts of the eggs after Austin went to bed. After they were dry, the Easter Bunny came and hid his Easter baskets and the eggs.
In the morning, I made pancakes (Austin's favorite breakfast) and then we got to hunting Easter eggs. Austin's got an empty basket, ready to find some eggs.
But, that was about the end of the egg hunting for the morning. Austin basically had no interest in finding the eggs or his Easter baskets. All he wanted to do was play with his other toys. He did find his basket with a new Veggie Tales movie and stuffed animal versions of the "pirates who don't do anything" from Veggies.
He was momentarily interested in it, but then was quickly back to playing with his old toys.

Nanny and Grandpa got him a really cute stuffed turtle Easter basket filled with fun treats and also some great books.

Check out the fun stuff from Grandma and PopPop.
Then it was off to church. When we went to Christmas Mass at Nanny and Grandpa's church, it was a complete disaster, so we opted to go to our old church for Mass since it was closer, didn't require getting there as early to get a seat, and is more kid-friendly. We had not been there since we got married there almost 5 years ago. Austin was pretty active and squirmy, but did pretty well, all things considered.
After lunch and a nap for Austin, we headed to the Fichtels to celebrate Easter with more family.

The boys hid LOTS of Easter eggs and this time, Austin had fun hunting Easter eggs with the other kids.
Then it was a yummy dinner, followed by Happy Birthday to my cousin Christopher (who turns 13 on tax day). That makes me feel old because I used to babysit him (and his sisters) when he was Austin's size. Time flies!

Austin got a wee bit over stimulated by all the activity, noise, and family, so he needed a little down time. He got to borrow Christopher's little DVD player and watch his Veggie Tales for a little bit before resuming his rambunctious activity level.

After all the fun, it was time to head back home. Austin was pretty tuckered out and, after a quick bath, went right to sleep. It was a busy flurry of activity all weekend, but lots of fun. Now we need to recover, settle in, and get some sleep this week!
Happy Easter everybody! I hope your Easter was fantastic!

There's one!
Look, mommy!
More eggs!
The older kids were so patient with him, and were helping him find eggs and hiding some especially for him to find.
