Austin also is getting to be such a big boy that he is nearing the weight limit on his highchair, so we bought him a new "big boy chair" for him to sit at the table with mommy and daddy. He's got a fun new placemat too, with fun pictures and a nursery rhyme on it. Austin has done great with the transition to his new chair and eating at the table like a big kid!
Nanny came to visit on Friday once the weather calmed down a bit from Thursday's thundersnow (which was very cool, by the way!).
She and Austin had fun reading books...
And dancing to Austin's favorite Veggie Tales songs.

He whirled himself around in circles until he was so dizzy he was running into things and Nanny and I had to make sure he didn't bonk himself on the furniture. I think we eventually wore him out, especially since he didn't take a nap that day.
I've been working on making a DVD of our home videos of Austin from 2008 and I just finished it that night, so we put it on the TV. Austin thought it was fun to see himself on the TV, especially when the video was of him giggling...then he joined in and laughed with his TV counterpart.
After dinner, Nanny and I dipped some crackers in the buttercream frosting that was left over from when we made cupcakes. Austin, who has not previously been very interested in the frosting decided to try it...
He decided he really liked it, and tried to stick his face into the tub of frosting.
He then moved on to using whatever he could find to scoop it up. He used the lid to his container of Pooh crackers to scoop up frosting...
Then got a hold of a spoon to eat it with.
That's my boy! We have theorized in our family that our love for buttercream frosting is genetic, so we were happy to see that Austin finally decided that buttercream frosting is pretty good stuff!
Well, that's about all that is new for us lately. I've finished up my infectious disease elective and now move on to the pediatric emergency department. It will be good to have some time during the day to be home with Austin and Steve, but I do have a lot of night shifts this month, so it will likely be tiring. Tonight I start with the 6pm to 3am shift for the next 3 days.
I hope you all are well and are tolerating the winter. It's almost spring, right? We're getting a little restless and are looking forward to the spring and summer so we can take Austin outside to play and run around a bit more.

Austin is adorable!
maybe he can convince luke that icing is GOOD to eat... Luke used to like it- but now just eats the bottom of the cupcakes.
Hope spring comes soon for you all!
