Springtime fun!

Well, Austin's eye is much better now. He took the first dose of the medication really well, and we thought we were set. However, the next few doses didn't go so well...in fact, we practically had to hold him down and pour it down his throat. But for some reason, he started liking it again, and now when I go to the kitchen to get it ready, he chases me over there and giggles in anticipation. His eye is all better now and his medication is almost finished. Yay!

He is really enjoying the spring weather by always wanting to be outside! He is almost 18 months old and is learning and doing new things every day. It is absolutely wonderful watching him learn and discover!

He can now point to almost every picture in his word books upon request. His favorite words are still "please" and "cup", but he has also added "bowl," "cookie," "bird," "banana," and "car." He points to the window and says "bird" when the psycho bird bangs itself on our window multiple times a day. Now, even if we can't see the bird, but we hear the banging on the window, he points to that side of the house and says "bird." Ugh! I think it might be time to call animal control.

He loves playing with his Cozy Coupe car outside on the lawn and playing with his friends across the street, (Bo, Eli, Sam, Isabella, and the day care kids there). He also likes chasing bubbles, going to the park, and throwing a ball to the dog at the house behind us. (For some reason he thinks it is absolutely hilarious when the dog tries to push the ball through the fence.)

The other day, he had fun running down the hall into his room, closing the door, and then popping out and running down the hall and tackling me at the end of the hall. I lost track of how many times he did it before he tired of the game.  (Video archived on 2008 DVD, titled Hide and Seek, 5-9).

This past weekend, we headed up to the Twin Cities for GiGi's 87th birthday celebration. Unfortunately, I got called back Saturday night to cover another resident's call shift on Sunday into Monday, so I missed the festivities, but Austin and Steve had a great time. Here are some pictures and video from the weekend....

Austin hangin with the ladies...Grandma Dorothy and GiGi.
The festivities were in honor of GiGi who turned 87 today!

Yay GiGi!

Nanny made Austin giggle by putting a little ball in her mouth and then popping it out at Austin...
