Sarah's Year in Dance, 2025-26

I am making a separate post for Sarah's dance photos because of the sheer number of photos I have from this year.  Each competition has professional photographers who take photos throughout each dance, so I have many.

This season at Premiere Dance Academy, Sarah was on the Senior Elite 1 Team (the top team in the studio).  Her dances were:

  • Pointe ballet solo - "La Bayadere Variation"
  • Lyrical solo - "Forgiveness"
  • Elite Small Group Tap - "Smooth Criminal"
  • Senior 1 Contemporary - "Weight of Us"
  • Senior 1 Jazz - "Tripasia"
  • Senior Tap Line - "Ants Marching"
  • Senior and Teen Lyrical Line - "Without You"
  • Production - "Twist and Shout"
  • Dads and Dolls - "Monopoly"
  • Darby's Dancers - "Fired Up"

She started the year off with her ballet solo at YAGP (Youth America Grand Prix) in October, and I put those photos in a previous post.

For the main competition season, she started with her ballet and lyrical solos at Celebrity Dance Compeition in February.

Laurie and Ethan helped with her hair change for her lyrical solo.

Ready to hit the stage.

Next was a trip to Duluth for the Masquerade Competition there for solos and small groups.  She competed her 2 solos and her tap small group, "Smooth Criminal". They always have great photographers at this one, so I was excited to get some great photos!

For the first whole studio competition of the year, we did Masquerade at the Ames Center in Burnsville.

Next was In10sity, just for solos.

Next up was Hall of Fame for solos only.

KAR (Kids Artistic Revue) for the whole studio

The last whole studio competition of the season was Applause Talent.
Sarah came down with influenza B the day before the competition began, but she was able to power through!

Wiped out after her first solo.
She just stayed on the floor for a while with a throat lozenge lollipop, then managed to get up and do her pointe solo.

Before her ballet solo, these little dancers from another studio saw Sarah and were SO excited!
"We're little you!" they squealed. So cute!

Sarah assistant taught the Teenies, Minis, and Petite teams this year. She is much beloved by the little dancers and their parents. She attends the portions of the competition she is not dancing in just to support the other dancers, especially her littles.
Here she is taking one of the little dancers back stage to watch from the wings.
And they are always very interested in her pointe shoes.
Sarah also taught Grace private lessons this year and helped her work on her solo.

More small group and team dances...

Steve danced with Sarah in the Dads and Dolls dance again this year.

Banquet

Always carrying or mobbed by little dancers wherever she goes.

Lastly, recital weekend!

It was a good year and we are excited to watch Sarah continue to grow as a dancer and as teacher in her last 2 years of high school.

Next post will be about our family vacation in June to Universal Studios/Epic Universe and a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas.
