Fall Fun

After returning from our cruise, the kids headed back to school!
Sarah 7th grade, Austin 10th grade
Trevor 4th grade

Sarah's dance team had team photos taken and we stayed afterward to take a few of our own.

Trevor fell on the playground and busted his front teeth.
The dentist had an opening the next morning to get them fixed.
Before...
During...
After...

Austin was chosen to participate in the All Conference Music Festival in band.
He was the first chair alto saxophone as a sophomore.
The band had that day only to play together to learn their concert pieces they performed that evening. They sounded great!
Trevor working hard at school.

We represented Metro Peds at the Shout Out Loud event supporting suicide prevention.
We had a welcome party for the 3 new doctors joining us!

After waiting for many months, my new car arrived!
I was happy to get the pretty blue color I requested.

Austin played for on the soccer team at his high school again this fall.
Cousin blanket forts at Austin's soccer game.
And post-game tackle hugs.

We picked apples!
And stopped at Minnesota's Largest Candy Store on the way home.
Trevor was excited about the ship on the ceiling.

Tracie Bea Photographie took family photos for us again this fall.

We recreated some photos from years ago...

We enjoyed our "family game" weekend at Notre Dame, this time with the Murphys and Auntie Trish along too!

We got to see Scott and Kim and spend some time catching up after the game too!
(Yes, Trevor, we're STILL talking!)

Time for concert on the steps!

Sarah's 7th grade band had a Halloween performance and some dressed in costume for the occasaion.

Austin earned the coach's award from his high school soccer team.

Sarah and I went to see CATS.
Neither of us had seen it before, but we heard the dancing was incredible! It did not disappoint on the dancing, but it is definitely an odd show.

Trevor had his first local tournament as a competitive fencer!
He did remarkably well for being brand new to this!
Big sibs came to cheer him on.
He really enjoyed doing the team event on the 2nd day with Henry and Jack. They are older and more experienced than Trevor, but are SO kind to him!
"The Ferocious Fencers" earned 3rd place after losing a VERY close team match 44-45 against another team from their club.  They had a lot of fun too!

Trevor was particularly excited about Halloween this year and carved his pumpkin himself. He made it match his light up pumpkin "Mr. Sparkles" that he keeps in his room as a night light.
Daddy also got him an electronic pumpkin that has a face projected on the front it that talks, sings, and tells jokes.  On Halloween night, while Trevor was out trick or treating, some delinquent teenagers pulled up to our house, stole his "Jabberin' Jack" and smashed it on the road a little father down the street.  Ruined his Halloween.

In November, my cousin Christopher got married!
He was toddler when I nannied for him and his older sisters when I was 16!  Definitely made me feel old!

Congratulations to Christopher and Amy!

(The waitress told us, "Don't worry. It's just ginger ale!")
The big kids were a huge help with the younger cousins!
Trevor lost a tooth during the reception!
The live band was great, and we discovered that my kids' piano teacher was the band's piano player!
Of course, when there is an Irish game during a family wedding, there is always an alumnus with it streaming during the reception.
Trevor was a dancing maniac at the wedding!

For Sarah's dance studio production kick-off party, her group was assigned the color green, so Sarah wore a leprechaun costume.

Austin turned 16!

Sarah made us fancy hot chocolates while we enjoyed watching an ND football game!
The game quickly got VERY snowy, but we were cozy at home with our hot chocolate!

Thanksgiving Day started like this...
But ended like this...

Sarah eagerly anticipated going to Grand Jete for her appointment to be fitted for her first pair of pointe shoes for ballet!
She and her friend and teammate Ethan had their appointments together.
The fitters kept saying how Sarah has "great feet" and "beautiful feet" over and over again. In ballet, I guess that is a really good thing?!
Success!
Next up, we had to learn to sew the straps and ribbons on.
Nanny came over to help us figure it out and we sewed Sarah's and Ethan's pointe shoes!

Sarah's
They were very excited and spent sometime goofing around in our kitchen with their new shoes!

Austin had his band concert with his new director. The band director that retired was the director I had in junior high and high school band. Austin had him for freshman year, but then he embarked on a well-deserved retirement.
(Austin is about 1/3 of the way to the left of the director in the 2nd row in this photo. You can only see the top of his head.)
Backstage smiles

Sarah is in the middle school honor band this year.

This wrapped up our fall/early winter. Next up is Christmas!
