Austin's 12th Birthday!

Austin turned 12 on November 9th!  I can believe my baby is such a big kid now!

At 12 years old, Austin...

- is 59.5 inches tall (60th percentile), weighs 91.2 pounds (53rd percentile), BMI 18.11 (55th percentile) and BP 104/58.  Healthy kid growing well.

- is a sweet and caring kid.  He has such a beautiful heart!

- is great with younger kids.  He volunteered to be an assistant coach with Trevor's kindergarten soccer team and was such a big help.  The coaches and parents were all commenting on how wonderful he was with the little kids.  

- is doing great in middle school. All A's so far and scoring in the 97th-98th percentile in his standardized tests.  He is being really responsible about keeping track of homework and turning in assignments, etc. which he has struggled with a bit in past years. 

- loves sports - especially playing soccer and basketball and watching Notre Dame football!  He picked ND football for his birthday party theme this year. 

- is always cheering on his teammates. He is the team's most enthusiastic cheerleader every game, it seems.

- has what seems like an encyclopedic knowledge of sports facts.  He can remember data, stats, players, teams, etc. remarkably well!

- started playing piano over the summer and has his first recital coming up this weekend.

- continues to play saxophone in the band at school, but never actually brings it home to practice anymore.

On his birthday, Dad was out of town for a conference for work, so I took him out to his dinner of choice (Pizza Ranch) and we saved the rest of the festivities for the weekend.

Before the party, Austin's basketball team had a tournament game.  They won the first game, so we didn't have to rush back after the party for an evening game.  They had 2 more games on Sunday and won the tournament!  Way to go boys!
