Fall Fun!

Since school started, we've had some fall family fun!  The first day of school, we didn't have any busing because the public school didn't start until a couple days later. When I had the day off on Thursday, I took the obligatory bus stop pictures of the little kids heading off to school.  This is Trevor's first year on the bus and he is pretty excited about it!

After the first week of school, we celebrated my cousin Becca's wedding to Matt.
Here we are at the reception cocktail hour on the deck of the Minikahda Club.
Kevin flew in for the wedding and we caught a sib picture.
Trevor had a blast dancing at the reception!!  We had to practically drag him off the dance floor at 10:30pm to make him go home to bed.  Here is a video of the dancing hilarity...

The next day, Jeannie and Tim had everybody over to their new lake house for some fun!
Despite chilly water, the kids had fun in the lake.
Trevor got to drive the boat with Great Uncle Hal.
Austin got some cousin cuddle time while watching the Notre Dame football game on TV.

Throughout September, Trevor has had soccer and swimming, Austin has been playing fall basketball (due to lack of a fall soccer team for his age group), Sarah's year of competition dance has begun, the big kids are continuing piano lessons, and Steve and I have got new work schedules adjusted for the fact that the kids are all in school full day now! We've been keeping very busy and trying to settle into a new routine and get everybody where they need to be!

We had a beautiful day a couple of weekends ago to head to the apple orchard!  We were too late in the season to pick our favorite tiny little apples, the Chestnut Crab Apples, but we were able to buy a big bag of them!
 My "Minnesota Grown" kids!
We headed out on the tractor ride to the orchard.
We chose Honey Gold and Haralson apples to pick.  The Honey Gold apples are sweet and crunchy and the Haralson's are more tart and good for baking.
Across the highway from the apple orchard is "Minnesota's Largest Candy Store", so we always visit on our way out of the orchard. We picked out some yummy treats and an apple pie.

Last weekend was our family weekend at Notre Dame!  We gathered for the Notre Dame vs Stanford game and had a fun weekend with family and a great game!  (ND beat Stanford by 38-17!)
Happy kiddo in the car - movies, ice cream - can't go wrong!

GO IRISH!
Trevor got a boost for the concert on the steps.
Austin watching the airplane flyover at the end of pregame.
The band formations show up well on the big screen!
My ND roomie Margaret spotted me in the stadium and we managed to connect after the game!
A fun weekend was had by all!  The rest of the fall is busy with more sports and a fun MEA week vacation!  More to come on that when we get back...
