Happy 8th Birthday Sarah!

Sarah turned 8 years old last week!  We celebrated her birthday with dinner out after school on Friday and then had a family birthday party over the weekend.
At 8 years old, Sarah:
- is silly, sweet, sassy, and smart.
- is tall and still growing well.  We have her checkup in 2 weeks, so I'll update measurements then. She has consistently been on the top of the growth curve for height. Update: on 2/15, Sarah is 54.25 inches tall (94th percentile), weighs 62.6 pounds (69th percentile), and has a BMI of 14.96 (30th percentile).  She's the height of an average 10 year old!
- loves school (2nd grade this year) and is a great student!  She is in challenge reading and math groups and is bored by homework.
- loves to read!  She is an avid reader and has earned over 200 Accelerated Reader points at school by the end of 2nd quarter!  She loves the Geronimo Stilton books and is currently reading the "Little House on the Prairie" series.
- loves dance!  She is on a competition team at her dance studio for the 2nd year and is having a blast with her jazz, tap, production, Daddy Daughter, technique, acrobatics, ballet, and extra ballet classes!  She will be competing in jazz, tap, and production for 4 competitions locally this spring and then nationals in Branson, MO this summer.  She will also perform those dances at all 3 recitals, along with the Daddy Daughter dance.

Celebrating Sarah!
Before we went out for dinner on Friday, we gave her our gift - Molly!  This is my American Girl Doll from when I was a little girl. She is one of the original 3 American Girl Dolls and they don't make her anymore.  We gave her to Sarah and she was SO excited!  She loves her!
On Saturday, we had her birthday party with family.  Here she is with her balloon bouquet.
Dean came over with Nanny and Grandpa while Auntie Michelle, Uncle Brian, and Theo took in a Daniel Tiger show.  Austin and Dean were good buds, hanging out on the couch together. In the very next photo I took, Austin had just looked away right as Dean was smiling!
Alexis brought over one of her American Girl dolls and she and Sarah had fun playing together.
Little brother photo bomb!

Sarah was also excited to receive some of her favorite Geronimo Stilton books, the ones she keeps checking out at the library again and again and again!

Cake time!  Sarah wanted a dancer theme, so we made her a ballet cake!  She LOVES ballet!
Happy Birthday Sarah!  We love you so much and can't wait to see what this year brings for you!
